Positive: It is very convenient to the entrance to Denali. That is what you are paying for... not the accommodations or other offerings (although the hot tub is a very nice treat - but don't plan for it to be available on your arrival day). It is booked at the front desk after check-in for 30-minute increments.
Negative: Restaurant and bar were closed for the season which we were not expecting. I don't feel that the rooms were discounted due to lack of services. Since we had to get in the car to eat anyway, we ended up driving north to the next town (~10 mins or so). The next town is obviously further from the Denali entrance, but since we were eating dinner there, in hindsight I would not have paid a premium to stay at Crow's Nest back by the entrance as it was actually an inconvenience for us at that point. Staying in the town to the north would have been cheaper and more convenient for us. I was also expecting a mountain view. Yes... if you stand on the deck and look through the trees and brush you can see the foothills on the other side of the highway. Just wasn't what I was picturing. I expected to be able to see a mountain view landscape... not be on one hillside looking at another hillside across the road.
Summary: Might be worth the high cost if the restaurant and bar is open, and you don't have transportation
