Positive: It’s a beautiful property with great amenities and the location is great.

Negative: The overall cleanliness was bad. The bed liners were not clean and the bathroom was not clean either. But the worst part was a dead mouse next to the bad and we found a lot of mice poop next to the bed. It is ideal for a family with two adults and kids, but not comfortable for a group of 5 adults.

Positive: The location close to town was great and the value was good. The modern appliances, especially the stove were great. The amount of towels was great and overall esthetic was homey and rustic. Ping pong table was great but it could use a refresh and maybe a more stable base.

Negative: While the listing mentioned the need for a 4x4 vehicle it did not mention the extreme steepness of the walk up to the entrance nor the extreme steepness of the path to the waterfront. We actually declined to go to the waterfront at the house and drove into town instead. The kitchen sink was also set up a bit odd and the faucet sticks out so much it’s difficult to wash larger dishes.

Summary: The house met our basic needs and was perfect for a mountain/lake weekend. Long term stay might be difficult on our

Negative: The smoke alarm kept going off. Atmospherics most likely but should be addressed. Also I did not realize we would have to climb such a steep hill to enter the building and lug all of our things. Booking.com should have been clearer. With all the rain, the steep unpaved driveway was difficult to manage. 15 minute walk to the water should also have been clearer.

Positive: I liked having a full kitchen and lots of space to lounge around. It was on a hill so I got lots of exercise and so did my dog. It is a hike to the water so again lots of exercise.

Negative: The only thing I didn’t like was the cobwebs.

Negative: The two decks were never cleaned. there was pollen all over the decking floor, the tables, chairs, and cushions. The shower on the lower deck was not cleaned out; there were dead bugs all over the bottom of the shower stall. I had spend about 1 hour sweeping the deck and wiping down the deck furniture and cleaning the shower stall. The fireplace may need to be cleaned out. Not all the smoke was going up the chimney flue which caused smoke into living space and the smoke alarm to go off several times during our stay.

Summary: In spite of the the pollen, cleaning, and smoke; we enjoyed our stay.

Negative: I lost my prescription sunglasses at the end of my two day stay. When I contacted the management company for help to see if I had left them at the facility, I received virtually no help whatsoever. Very disappointing.
