Positive: What i liked the most is the fact that they have a standby generator guaranteeing electricity 24/7 despite the national grid power cuts. The bathroom is so clean and smells nice with constant water flow. Internet is superfast.

Positive: Very new and exceptionally clean. Very welcoming staff. The pool side bar restaurant very lively with a serene environment. The cuisine is a mix of both western and African dishes. I enjoyed the chef's special for the day which tasted just like i expected.

Positive: Bed was awesome and sheets were cozy. Liked the fact that the 2 XXX rated channels were locked pass-coded so that my children did not accidentally view adult content while changing channels. However, I was not given the pass-code just in case I wanted to watch with my spouse.

Negative: I stayed for 1 week spending more days than I had planned to because of its proximity to southwest and location of other stuff i had to do. My bathroom on the 2nd floor had very low water pressure (drips like urine stream) and no hot water throughout my stay. Hot water had to be brought from kitchen in a bucket. Food was served to my family without drinking water. Food quantity too small for the price of 5000 Frs or 10,000 Frs depending on choice of food or worst drinks. I wasted 50,000 Frs for just dinner that did not satisfy my kids or myself. Local good food is available at restaurants just 5 mins walk from the hotel cost 1000 Frs for a huge plate (fuller quantity). This served us better for breakfast, lunch and supper. 5000 Frs at the hotel is for one person (meaning 25,000 Frs at one seating for us) which comparatively that same money fed 5 of us locally 5 different times. If the cost were 1500 Frs or 2500 Frs at the hotel that is understandable. 5000Frs is 5 times the price and for less. Bottled water cost felt like extortion even more. I bought my pack of 8 big bottles that served us through out. Kitchen and food not at all good including attendant constantly going to the backroom and not coming back. If you need something quick be ready to wait. TV so blurry and grainy hurt my eyes. Few channels were good (football) but not viewable due to the very grainy screen. YouTube in my room and kids room was our only go to. TV in the cafe area is large and clearer ad that is where I watched soccer.

Summary: Kitchen and food services very poor. Pool area has welcoming attractive chairs and shed.

Positive: Brand new hotel that reeks luxury and modernity. Having been around standard hotels around the world, I would say Debolonia meets an international standard - large and exceptionally clean rooms with stable WiFi, serviceable staff. The price absolutely does not reflect the facility but I understand this is a promotional price given it is brand new.

Negative: The property is located in Bonaberi but only about 100m from the road, which in itself is graded so easy access however, if you have daily business in Douala city center, be mindful of traffic. I would however say that the quality of the facility offsets this slight downside.

Summary: Simply excellent, impressive and exceptionally clean!

Positive: The place has great potential. It’s nice and clean but location is hard to find. Decor classy and simple. When it’s finished, it will be awesome. The bathroom is nice and inviting. Mr Al Also n, the receptionist is very kind and accommodating. It certainly helps that he speaks English and French.

Negative: Construction going on. Mosquitoes. The hotel doesn’t seem to see the importance of making up its short comings with the guests. You simply must pay the price and do without the absent advertised amenities. Also the shuttle though advertised to pick up and drop off at the airport; does drop off at a cost per hour to guests. A little customer service would help the business a lot especially with international tourists. That said, it’s one of the better proprieties for the whole city of f Douala for that price range.
