Summary: The Darling Cottage House was clean, spacious and the most serene place I have ever visited. The lake out back provided the peace and calm I was seeking. One friend with us is an avid bird watcher and she was not disappointed. We were so surprised to know that Bluffton is only 30 mins from both Hilton Head and Savannah, and we were able to visit both places. The people in Bluffton were friendly and the food, especially at Bluffton BBQ on "State of Mind St." was outstanding. I wasn't going to include this, but since I was asked to give this review a title, the first thing that came to mind is " Meandering Crater Road". As lovely as the property is, the access to it was a quite challenging. Our first impression was to see the charm of the road to the location, but the deep craters, pooled with water cause us to drive at a snail's pace and meander around them, thus we dubbed the road "Meandering Crater Road." Aside from the road, we had a wonderful stay at the cottage house. Heidi was always prompt in responding to our inquiries from start to finish. We even booked an extra day! I would really enjoy visiting the Darling Cottage House on the Lake again.
