Positive: Stunning historic property set in beautiful gardens and grounds. Close to Henley and Marlow with bus stops at end of drive and frequent buses. Plenty of easy parking. Lots of interesting walking within the grounds or a good walk on public footpaths all the way to Marlow. We had a spacious room overlooking the lovely gardens. Spa facilities with good size pool. Excellent dining experience breakfast, lunch and dinner were all high quality. Staff were helpful and extremely courteous.

Negative: Nothing really except the fixtures and fittings in our room and bathroom were starting to look rather tired and worn. Plug sockets all in awkward places for phone/device charging. Also would have been nice to have had a nespresso coffee maker. But none of the above would put us off a return visit.

Positive: Lovely house and the staff were brilliant. Hotel is getting tired and it needs some investment but overall it’s still a lovely house.

Negative: Spa was too crowded on afternoon with no beds. Pool was cold. Staff at the bar should be a little more attentive instead of waiting for us to go up to bar. Restaurant staff at dinner and breakfast though very good.

Negative: Sadly, on arrival, the person on reception was very confused about the breakfast arrangements was trying to tell us we needed to book on, and there were only very early sittings available. A guest told us otherwise, and the guest was correct.

Positive: The room was very comfortable and had everything you would need for a stay. The breakfast was outstanding and was served on the outside terrace by friendly staff.

Negative: It was a very hot few days on our stay and air conditioning would have been welcomed. The lift was out of order on our stay which meant climbing stairs, however the staff were helpful with the suitcases.

Summary: Absolutely loved our stay at the Danesfield and will be back to enjoy its facilities once again.
