Summary: Jelsa is a quaint, quiet and relaxing place. Last came here in 1982 and it has only changed for the better. Lovely situation, friendly locals, not as expensive as other areas of Croatia, except for the wine - which was very good but hey, they produce it here! Generally good standards in terms of architecture, cleanliness, things to do, scenery and the lovely Croatian people. Our hosts were utterly charming. Accommodation very comfortable and clean. Smallish but more than adequate. Lots of walks in the vicinity, our favourite being the 5K walk to Vrboska along the coastal road - just beautiful! All in all, a very enjoyable stay, made better with the late September sun and the lack of crowds. Highly recommended.
