Summary: Check-in started off a bit frustrating, as the reception was unmanned and we had to wait a little while to find someone. That said, once we were attended to, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We were told around 8 p.m. that the hotel bar would open at 11 p.m. when the night team arrived. Not a major issue, but it meant a late-night dash to Tescos opposite for a bottle of wine instead. The bedroom itself was lovey - comfortable and nicely decorated. I even liked the pillow so much I ordered one from the website! However, the room was a bit too warm, but things went downhill from there. Our view was directly onto the hotel’s extraction ducting. While the room came with a fan and we opened the window to cool down, the night-time noise from the ducts was loud and persistent, leading to a really poor night’s sleep. To top it off, the room seemed set up for just one guest, with a small double bed - not what I had booked.
