1 Bedroom Cottage in Double Bay, Eleuthera

Double Bay is centrally located on Eleuthera, about 4 miles south of Palmetto Point on the Atlantic Ocean. The beach is a two mile stretch of pink sand with coral reefs dotted along the beach. It's a very private area with mostly large estate homes. We have 6 acres of land on the beach which we have left undisturbed except a clearing around the house and a path cut through to the beach.
This newly renovated stone cottage was the first structure on Double Bay. Repotly built as a fisherman's cottage, we unearthed the cottage from the bush, gave it a major overhaul, and ended up with a lovely, modern studio cottage with everything you need and more! The cottage is located toward the south end of Double Bay and may be rented alone or in tandem with Palms cottage. The cottage is surrounded by palmetto palms, with a winding path several hundred feet to beautiful Double Bay. The stone exterior is surrounded by wide covered porches with plenty of space for relaxing, dining, or a secluded outdoor shower. The exterior porches are a new addition to the original stone structure.
The interior is entirely new, from ceiling to floor. Tall wooden tray ceilings enhance the open floor plan. The open floor plan includes a full kitchen, bedroom and sitting area with a separate bathroom. A washer/dryer, air conditioning and ceiling fans are included. Our local craftsman built the kitchen cabinets and most all of the bedroom furniture. Local talent is further evident in the art and furnishings around the cottage. A fully equipped kitchen, all towels, linens and even beach chairs are included with your rental.
We have owned Palms cottage on the same stretch for 20+ years,. The homes are completely separate from each other and totally private. We have put the same care into the construction and will maintain the new stone cottage as we have Palms all these years. We are looking forward to welcoming new guests to share in the beauty of Double Bay

Summary: The Stone Cottage was exactly as described. Ann was helpful and responsive when we had delay in our plans. Enjoyed the walk to the beach each morning for sunrise. It was great to have beach chairs and umbrella available. Most of the time we had the beach to ourselves. The porch was also great for relaxing and you could still hear the ocean. Perfect for just relaxing and going off the grid which is exactly what we wanted to do. Thanks for a fabulous memory.

Summary: My wife and I had a wonderful week at the Stone Cottage. The beach was beautiful and private, we barely saw anyone. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch in the mornings with coffee and in the evening after a day on the beach. The hosts were very helpful and responsive. The house was perfect for what we needed and we will definitely be planning another trip back!

Summary: Outstanding. Most beautiful setting. The cottage was cozy as described. Very private with all amenities.Microwave,hair dryer,beach chairs,excellent wi-fi,etc…A little bumpy road to get to it and then just perfect..A short walk in a trail thru nature at its best and then the most magnificent scene opens up on Double Bay, a beach that could not be more beautiful. Completely alone withMiles of sandy shore.Ann and Clyde at the Eleuthera Farmwe’re easily reached for any questions. Definitely a must go-back experience

Summary: Spent a pleasant week here. Building is new, in great condition, and well appointed. Loved the wrap-around porch and outdoor shower. It is on the ocean side of Banks Rd, but beach is a short walk down a path through the palmettos. Double Bay is, as is the case for most of Eleuthera, very beautiful and almost completely deserted (we saw only a handful of people on the beach throughout the entire week). Very convenient location more or less in the center of the island allowing easy access to points north and south. Be advised that the kitchen contains essentially no pantry staples (salt & pepper, cooking oil, etc), so if you intend to cook at home you should plan to provision everything you think you'll need.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay because we wanted to explore the South end of the island. The studio was a good fit. We loved the large porch and hammock. The only problem was construction noise from down the road & workers coming into the yard doe water quite frequently.

Summary: This charming house with its expansive wraparound porch was perfect for my wife and me. No traffic, no noise and no neighbors to speak of. You are a short walk down a private path to gorgeous Double Bay Beach, that you will have pretty much to yourself. The grounds are delightful and the outdoor shower and charcoal Weber grill are nice touches. You are 15 minutes from Island Farm which has everything you need, including beer, wine and liquor, and is run by the house manager. A little further is 3Js which has good, cheap takeout. So happy we booked this house. Our flight was cancelled and we had to arrive the next day but we were accommodated with no issues. I would return in a heartbeat.

Summary: Where do we begin. The interior of this beautiful studio is very modern with a lovely bathroom, equipped kitchen, new washer/dryer, and comfortable bed. But the size of your living space increases significantly with a private wrap-around porch that includes a fantastic hammock and comfortable chairs and table. The grounds are stunning: beautifully landscaped and maintained. Don't think for a moment that it's a pain to walk to the perfect beach: the walk is spacious, easy, and a soothing preparation for the beach landscape that opens before you. 10 out of 10.
