Positive: This house has a nice spacious layout with very nice views from inside through the windows. The homeowners were very responsive and friendly with their messages with helpful tips on trails around Crestone.

Negative: This property needs a freshening up. There are several, in fact most screens on the windows around the house are broken so we could not open the windows up in the evening to cool the house off due to the extreme amount of mosquitoes in this area. Having no air conditioning with this made for a frustrating and rather uncomfortable visit. There is a neighboring house that is very close by which is not expressed in the pictures. This property is advertised as a convenient location to the great Sand dunes national Park but it is well over an hour away. The bathroom had a pretty good mildew smell going on and there were several spots of smashed mosquitoes and blood on the walls. There were a few armed and baited mouse traps on the floor that our dogs could access so we had to do a full scan of the house to find them all before settling in. We did not find the mattresses to be comfortable. The owner had a note in the house as well as sent messages telling us not to leave anything but a perfect review.. so sorry but this is not a 9+ out of 10 on booking in its current state. Properties with those ratings on here are in perfect condition.

Positive: Love the location and how dark and quiet it was there. The house was equipped with everything that we needed and Ted was an awesome host! Beds were super comfy and private parking at the house. Easy to get into town and to the mountains which is why we were there.

Negative: There was nothing that we did not like about the property.

Summary: A wonderful place to stay while adventuring in the mountains!

Positive: I liked the windows with views of the mountains, flowers, and hummingbirds. Ted was a communicative host. His family has clearly put love and thought into their mountain home. He was quick to respond to questions and concerns.

Negative: It would be more convenient if Booking.com had a place for pets and pet cleaning fees when booking.

Summary: Our stay was everything we hoped for, with a few unexpected surprises that worked out in the end.
