Positive: We loved everything about cowslip, it had everything you could possibly need for a weeks holiday. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of seating too. As for the location we couldn’t have asked for better close enough to Bamburgh that you could see the castle , but in a quiet area that allowed us to enjoy the amazing evening skies.

Summary: Perfect family getaway.

Positive: Great location. Cowslip is right at the end with great views. Incredibly quiet location. You can access footpaths near the property to walk into Bamburgh.

Negative: Beds mattresses were uncomfortable. Thermostat on shower was stuck in very hot so we couldn’t use, but we reported this so hopefully will be fixed.

Summary: Wonderful holiday in a beautiful part of the country

Positive: We thought the house had an excellent lay out for us with a lovely joint living room and kitchen/dining area. The beautiful big windows let in plenty of light and had a superb view of the countryside with Bamburgh Castle in the distance. The area was quiet at night. Check in was easy with keys in a lock box. We had an issue at the beginning of our stay and Rachel got back to me immediately and had it sorted. We appreciated her quick response.

Negative: The house was clean, however there was dental floss left on the dining table and just things like some crumbs in the cutlery tray, a half used mini pot of jam left in the basket. It just made us think it had been cleaned in a rush. Our other issue was that there were no basics left for us, like toilet roll, hand soap etc. I contacted the owner and she replied immediately. We had some basics delivered the next day (a mistake on behalf of cleaners perhaps) but luckily we had some toilet roll with us!

Summary: We had a wonderful, comfortable stay in a fantastic, quiet location

Negative: It was sold to us as accessible. On arrival there was a deep step to gain entry. The living area was large and airy. The bedroom however was too narrow to get a wheelchair round the bed to get to the shower room and toilet. There were no handles to enable safe transfer. The transfer aid was not able to get safely to the toilet as it had to be turned to face the toilet in a room which was too narrow. We had to have the shower door removed so we could get the shower chair into the shower nevermind the user! (He is barely 11stone! ) The whole experience of going to the loo and bed was very stressful and ruined the holiday for us and the other guests.

Positive: Lovely location and very peaceful. Beautiful views. Well equipped and nice touch re welcome items ie Coffee, Tea and dishwasher tablets etc Not sure if this is standard or we just got lucky! Towels and bedding good quality and comfortable. We all slept well! Lovely views from all the rooms and a warm place which was cosy after a dog walk along Bamburgh beach. Constant Hot water was fab too. Kids room was really cute and a great way to make the place a 4 adult / 4 child occupancy.

Negative: To elevate the stay it’s in need of a little TLC. A few things need securing like the curtains pole in the second bedroom and toilet seat in the main room and abit more space for coats as they don’t fit in the utility as the cupboard is already full. Not a lot of storage for a longer stay. Cushions could do with a clean and just have a bit of a spring clean/update. I don’t think the cleaners are noticing everything. Also could do with getting into the property at say 4pm not 5pm.

Summary: Lovely spot and location - great for Beach walks and some R&R
