Positive: What not to like about that property? Wendy is an exceptional host, the property (especially after 7 hours' drive) was a delight and it is a place I will wholeheartedly recommend to both friends and family.

Negative: It is not easy to find. The sat nav directs you to a very narrow lane. Wendy, however, provided written directions accompanied by images, which was helpful.

Positive: Quiet area, owners are very welcoming and friendly, comfortable beds. We sat in the garden to have our evening meals while enjoying the freshness of Miretonhampstead. My daughter enjoyed cuddles with Wendy's cats. We also had a lovely evening playing football and croquet on the green field area opposite the property. Am not a keen driver on countrylanes but I did well considerably. We visited Manaton Village and North Bovey, they've both got lovely churches open for any visitor. St John's church in North Bovey has a corner for second hand books, my daughter bought couple of books. The property is not far from Becky falls.

Positive: The Cowshed is absolutely stunning and very cozy with a fireplace and all the amenities you need (even heated floors in the bathroom). The place was clean and warm. The host, Wendy, was very welcoming and gave us many recommendations on walks and pubs in the area. We didn't have a car, but the property is very well located just 20 minute walk from the village for groceries and restaurants, and many beautiful Dartmoor paths (Hunter's and Fisherman's path, Castle Drogo, North Bovey, Easdon Tor) are close by. Wendy was also extremely helpful in helping us find a taxi when none were available on a bank holiday.
