Positive: We loved all the little touches to make the cottage cosy and welcoming for an autumn stay. The central heating was perfect but the gas burner in the living room was a bonus for a boost on blustery nights. There were also lots of fleecy blankets to snuggle under if needed. We loved the large, well-equipped kitchen and nicely appointed bathroom with rainfall shower. It wasn’t really the weather for it when we stayed but the property also has a large garden and decked area which would be great in fine weather.

Negative: Nothing, couldn’t fault it.

Summary: A lovely, cosy bungalow in a beautiful, quiet location in the countryside.

Positive: The cottage is very clean, well and thoughtfully equipped. There are beautiful views over the countryside and a lovely garden with decking where we enjoyed many cups of coffee and the odd meal. It is also very conveniently situated for days out in most directions, we travelled easily to the Lake District, Alnwick and Newcastle, with Ponteland only a few miles down the road,we had access to a good Sainsbury’s and Waitrose.

Summary: We have found a gem in the North East to which we plan to return

Positive: The property was exceptionally clean, well equipped and incredibly dog friendly. The shower was lovely and the entire house was cozy and comfortable. we had a fantastic time.

Positive: The property was in a nice location and the host was nice and helpful. There's an en suite which is nice and the facilities in there were nice. Kettle, toaster etc and even some herbs and spices which the host left which was a nice touch. The parking is ample outside and the inside is decorated nicely.

Negative: Two major things which are kind of linked. The host pre sets the central heating and we went in the middle of winter during a particularly cold snap. So whilst there was a central heating dial, it's overridden by the host, which I think is totally unacceptable when you are paying for a holiday let. It meant our first night was absolutely freezing. The host does say let them know if you want more heat, which we did, however it's just not pleasant asking someone to provide more heating on your holiday. The property is an old property as well, so the temperature never gets up to a comfortable temperature in the middle of winter and there's quite a bit of damp on the walls in both bedrooms and mould in the en suite. I think if you were going in summer it would be a lovely place, but in the winter it's really not suitable for a stay.
