Summary: We enjoyed our stay at the Vieux Pommier. It is a characterful old building which has been renovated and equipped to the highest standard. The setting is very tranquil and the balcony is ideal for enjoying a long lingering meal on a warm summer's evening. Isabelle could not be more friendly or helpful. As she could not be there the whole time, she even had her friend come by to check everything was alright after an overnight storm. The gite is conveniently located for exploring Vichy and not too far from Clermont-Ferrand and the Puy de Dome. There are plenty of walking options nearby, with stacks of information including walk books and maps. English speakers should be aware that most of the information is in French and it is French TV only, but Isabelle speaks excellent English. Visitors should also be aware that it is fairly lengthy drive (20 minutes) to the main road, but that is the price you pay for such a tranquil location. Highly recommended!
