Ground level entry and no stairs!
Situated on picturesque Ridge Scenic Highway at Starr Lake, on the ecologically unique Lake Wales Ridge (hundreds of lakes, rolling hills, and ancient flora & fauna). Central Florida is well known for its Golf Courses,numerous lakes with great bass fishing and there’s always room for boat-trailer parking right on site.
12 minutes to Legoland Florida; 8 minutes to famous Bok Tower Gardens (daily carillon recitals and a brilliant kid's play space); 45 minutes to Disney World's theme parks and nighttime entertainment. Universal Studios, Harry Potter and Orlando International Airport all easily reached in under an hour. 70 Minutes to Tampa, Ybor City nightlife, Busch Gardens (awesome coasters), and Tampa Airport; 90 Minutes to the Gulf Coast Beaches (sunsets) or Atlantic Beaches (sunrises).
Surrounded by orange groves and u-pick blueberry and peach orchards, your cottage is situated on a private 10 acre family homestead. Public Transportation to Legoland and other area attractions stops hourly an easy 1/2 mile walk from here. Close to grocery shops and regional mall, multiplex theatre, bowling, and many unique family owned restaurants, we are fully outfitted with a 20 K watt natural-gas generator which provides uninterrupted power in any weather condition.
For aviation enthusiasts, learn to fly Para-gliders/Ultralights at Lake Wales Municipal Airport (10 minute drive), EAA 'Sun n' Fun' fly-in is at Lakeland Linder Airport for a week each April (40 minute drive); and, there's plenty of great 'drop-zones' for anyone who can't wait to jump out of a perfectly good airplane ;). Summary: The Country Cottage had everything we needed for our stay. It even had some bottled water, coffee, tea, and snacks. Some guest may want an ironing board or clothes steamer. The location was only two miles from our relatives home and not very far from shopping or restaurants. We had someene in our party stay behind one day because she wasn't feeling well. Greg went above and beyond by checking on her and offering to go get anything if it was needed. There are quite a few outdoor cats for entertainment while you sit outside. I believe some of the cats are rescues. We enjoyed watching the younger cats play and watching the cats follow Greg to the mailbox and back. That tells me that the cats know who really cares for them. When it was time to end our stay Greg wrote us a very nice thank you card.

Summary: Very cute little bungalow for just my husband and I. is that The bathroom needs more areas to place our personal items. The Wi-Fi signal was too weak for my iPad, luckily I had great cellular reception to use my phones hot spot. Hope you like cats, you will be greeted by several!

Summary: This was the perfect place for my husband and I! It was clean, quiet, cozy, and relaxing. This special place had everything we needed. The bed was so comfortable and a major plus, as we were there on a pretty big work assignment! We were really able to enjoy ourselves. Mr. Esteve and his son, Greg, were warm and welcoming and so very hospitable. We highly recommend this very comfortable and positively perfect cottage. We loved it and hope to return again soon!

Summary: Our hosts were super, so friendly & helpful. The cottage was well stocked and met our needs space wise. Several interesting activities in the area and Ed was very helpful in making suggestions. If we travel that way again we would certainly consider this property.

Summary: I thoroughly enjoyed my ten day stay at the Country Cottage. The atmosphere was relaxing and everything in the cottage is comfortable. Especially the mattress on the bed. Wow! This is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in away from home. Edward and Greg are wonderfully accommodating gentleman. As a single female, I always felt safe and secure. Everything was neat as a pin and all a traveler's needs were well thought out and provided for. I wish I could have stayed longer!
