Positive: Fantastic character cottage located in a charming Cotswold village. The cottage had excellent facilities and a lovely courtyard garden (not closed off the road so we used long line for our dog as he’s not road savvy) and Off road parking. The village is very lovely and the locals very friendly. The Red Lion pub and Grain Store cafe both within walking distance (and highly recommended) along with a village store/post office (which is very well stocked if you forget something). The village is equally close to Bicester Village (8 miles), Woodstock/Blenheim Palace and Banbury, with Oxford another further 4 miles away. There is also a train station which you can walk to in 25 mins along the canal which takes you to London Marleybone. Nick the host, was excellent in his communication and very responsive. We will definitely return.

Positive: The village of Steeple Aston is picture postcode beautiful and only a short drive from the main road. Oxford Parkway park and ride is a short drive as is Blenheim Palace. The village is quiet and peaceful. The cottage has parking for two cars and a small garden with outdoor seating. The bedrooms are a good size and the beds are comfy. Plenty of towels provided. There is a well stocked shop a very short distance from the cottage.

Negative: The kitchen equipment could be improved, ie. We could only find one baking tray, there were very few teaspoons and all the knives used for food preparation were blunt. The garden and parking area need a good clean and tidy up.

Positive: Location was great, very quiet. Beds were very comfy and cottage had everything we needed for a few days.

Negative: Stairs very noisy so couldn’t sneak down for a cuppa without waking the whole house lol
