Positive: Three of us with all three rooms and the shared lounge, like a mini apartment. Excellent bike room with two pumps, work stand, various tools. Just turn left out of the drive and you are climbing the Col de la Croix de Fer. Restaurants in town tend to shut on a Monday, but the owner served us a meal of local produce.

Positive: Isabelle and Arnaud were excellent hosts — very helpful and friendly, we felt completely at home. The room was comfortable, and the house offers a common room with a kitchenette. There is also a secure bike room with hangers and tools, as well as a small but well-equipped gym available on request. Breakfast was delicious, with homemade jams and pastries. We also really appreciated the eco-friendly approach: the owners recycle and collect water, which we liked very much. We will be happy to return on our next visit — with great pleasure!

Positive: Great Hosts. Very friendly and engaged. Very clean with all extras you can expect. Tasteful interior and nice terrace. Local products at breakfast. Extras reasonable priced.

Negative: Thin walls. You can hear anything as you have forgotten to close doors. Breakfast very fresh with local / private products which do not include cheese or ham etc.

Each morning started with a delicious, generous breakfast, thoughtfully prepared and perfect for fueling up before a day in the mountains. One of the highlights of our stay was Isabel’s homemade Tartiflette—a local specialty that was absolutely fantastic and not to be missed! The service throughout our stay was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always helpful. Isabel and her husband went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. The location is ideal for cyclists looking to take on the legendary climbs of the Tour de France. Col de la Croix de Fer, Col de la Madeleine, and the Télégraphe/Galibier are all within reach, making this a perfect base for an unforgettable alpine cycling trip. We couldn’t recommend Coeur de Fournache more highly and are already looking forward to our next visit!
