Positive: The grounds were stunning and the communal areas were clean and very tastefully decorated. The food was very good but at times service a little slow.

Negative: The room wasn't as clean as we hoped. The decor was tired. There was no towel change or tea tray restocked on the 2nd day. There could not possibly have been more than 10 mins spent in the room by housekeeping staff over the 3 days we spent there.

Positive: The room was perfect and not that difficult to find once we figured out the fastest route from the lift (more than one way to get there threw us off initially) The garden gate that had coded access was a godsend for my mother as the main entrance was too far and steep from town. The fact it opened out onto the beach by about a hundred yards was a great help. She has Emphysema and steep hills are a real problem for her, but the long gradual path leading to the seafront really helped.

Negative: Shower seemed a little ropey (especially the floor) and could be updated. Also the room we had the window opened out onto the main road. This wasn't that loud when the window is shut, but as it was super hot when we were there it was a bit loud when we did have the window open. The supplied fan did help a great deal, but air con in this room would have helped as then you don't need to open the window.

Summary: Very good. We had the cheap twin room, so what few negatives were outshined by the positives.

Positive: Lovely friendly staff in all areas of the hotel. Fab location, a short walk through the lovely grounds with a gate to the promenade and beach. Great swimming pool. Properly dog friendly unlike some hotels.

Positive: Beds were quite uncomfortable, didn’t sleep well & got back ache, even my daughter said they was uncomfortable.! Could maybe do with new mattresses or toppers at least! Cleanliness, was good..though was some bits in room that was bit unclean, when I wiped over. Car park can get busy, & may not be able to park at all times. Food was better this time. Close to the seafront & town Overall nice stay, pleasant, friendly.

Summary: Would stay again, overall a nice stay

Positive: Beautiful grounds, comfortable room, great views of the sea, very nice breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Access to promenade through private gateway in bottom corner of grounds. Dog-friendly, and for us as former dog owners the dogs themselves make the place even better.

Negative: Fair climb from town centre - but worth it.

Summary: Have been before and would come again! Great for dogs too.
