Positive: We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the airport; essentially after a long day of travel to Dominica, we just wanted a quick taxi ride to a hotel to relax and unwind. The hotel was a great choice for this. We were there in mid-February 2025 and there was evidence of a 'former glory' (prior to a hurricane, perhaps) in the form of an outdoor courtyard, bar and stage. There was construction in process and I have hopes for a bright future for this facility as the entire staff was extremely welcoming, attentive and informative. Since there are no restaurants in the immediate vicinity, we requested a dinner there, which was superb as was the breakfast the following morning. After breakfast, we walked about 45 minutes, mostly downhill and quite scenic, back to the airport to get a rental car and began our exploration of Dominica. Some travelers might choose to do it differently and immediately leave the airport area to 'see the sights'. I have no regrets; primarily because of the friendly staff at the Classique International.

Negative: Despite its proximity to the airport, Marigot has little to offer a tourist in Dominica. For some, this could be a good thing; one has a chance to experience a typical village of steep, winding narrow roads. This is not a flaw of the hotel, they appear to be doing the best they can with their location.

Summary: Good place to unwind after a long travel day, but no real reason to linger here

Positive: We picked the hotel because it was close to the airport. We wanted somewhere to stay on our arrival because we were anticipating a delayed flight.

Negative: Communication with the owners was dreadful. We sent multiple emails regarding the evolving situation of our later and later arrival, first asking them to pass on the arrival time to the taxi meeting us, then asking if we would be too late for dinner and finally asking if they might be able to make us a sandwich because we were really late. We only got a reply when we explicitly asked that they acknowledged our email, but even then our questions were not answered. When we finally arrived nobody appeared to have even read our emails and, though we finally got a sandwich, it was grudgingly offered. To add to the general trauma, the owner even said he would have to check that that we had paid for the room! Which is another negative side to the hotel - they don't take cards, but do everything via PayPal requests! Finally, the room was advertised as having tea and coffee making facilities..... There was some instant coffee and one cup, but no kettle. I suppose we could have heated some water in the one cup in the microwave that was surprisingly in the room - but seriously??!

Positive: The suite was very clean and had a small refrigerator and microwave as well as a lovely veranda to sit outside and enjoy the birds and majestic views. I traveled solo and felt very safe while staying at the Classique. The staff always made me feel welcome on the dining patio and even sat to socialize from time to time. I enjoyed all of their varied personalities they all were very personable and accommodating with my pre-requests for meals and tour suggestions.

Negative: If I have to pick something to not like I would say not having a front facing window would be it. In this particular suite on the 3rd floor there was a large window which does look out to the back of the property so not to worry if you are claustrophobic there is a window that faces the back if you want to open the curtain. It didn't matter much because you can just go out onto the veranda, just bring bug spray for the evening.

Summary: A personalized experience offering magnificent views and great local food with super friendly staff.
