Positive: We loved staying in this traditional Ryokan in peaceful mountain village away from the crowds, set in a beautiful old temple ground. The meals were outstanding, enjoyed in our own private dining room, with warm and attentive service that made our stay truly special.

Positive: This is a fabulous old temple building with traditional rooms, kind, considerate hosts, beautifully prepared food that catered for vegetarians for 3 days in beautiful surroundings. Half board is not cheap but we don’t begrudge a penny. Such lovely people.

Negative: If you want comfy beds, and English speakers then look elsewhere.
