The perfect place to also rent the Right "Chicken" Wing to be close to family or friends but still have your own space.
Right out your back door is the Kirkwood Meadow. Ski and play with the family. Such a beautiful spot! This duplex got its name because the outside of the home has wood shingle siding that look like actual chicken feathers. What makes this home so special are a few things. The living room and kitchen are open, letting in lots of light and views. The space invites you to light a fire in the wood stove and gather for games and relaxing after a day of snow play in winter or enjoying the Kirkwood area in the off season.
Because the living room is on the second story, it means you are more likely to experience these views without them being blocked by snow mounds that can often accumulate on the first story up here. Two bedrooms are downstairs and one bedroom is upstairs, providing privacy for all. 2 fold-away beds also provided for extra sleeping. There is also a large entry way to store your skis and boots.
There is parking for 2 cars across the street from this home and plenty of snow play areas for the kids. You can take a very short shuttle ride to the main lifts or put on your cross country skis and walk out to the miles of groomed Nordic trails. This duplex has something for everyone and is sure to please!

Summary: We had a nice stay that we cut short due to a storm coming in. The location was easy for getting to the slopes via the shuttle that stops right in front of the duplex. The heater was turned on before we got there and it was incredibly hot upstairs. It would have been helpful to know that the thermostat was down in the entry way behind the snow shoes hanging on the wall. We roasted for a long time before finally finding it. Everything was clean and it had everything we needed to use the kitchen. We didn't have enough towels and when asked for more, they didn't come. However, since we had to leave early, we made due with the few we had. This fit two adults, two teenagers, and an 11 year old (using the extra mattress from the closet) just fine.

Summary: The cabin has everything you need for a great winter family vacation - board games, TVs upstairs and down, snow shoes, shovels for digging out your car from a foot of snow .... Location is really close to one of the main ski lifts. The cabin is well outfitted with cooking spices etc. Great place to stay with boys.
