Positive: The service was excellent. It was quiet and location excellent. Bikes were a great idea.

Negative: I was a little surprised to see discretionary service charges on the room. Never in my travels have I paid more than the advertised price of the room. That was disappointing.

Summary: Very good on most aspects except the added price to the room. Watch out for it.

Positive: “The gardens, bars, and restaurants were beautifully maintained and exactly what you would expect from a 5-star hotel.”

Negative: “The bedrooms are now quite dated and worn, while the bathrooms, although very clean, look old-fashioned and don’t match the standard of the areas downstairs.”

Positive: Location of hotel and grounds is beautiful. Staff and service is excellent.

Negative: Hotel is very tired. Restaurant and lounge areas are very nice but rooms are extremely dated and tired.

Positive: As always a beautiful location. Staff were friendly and the room we booked spacious

Negative: The breakfast service let them down . Two poached eggs on sourdough was just that …very badly presented no flourish to decorate and arrived 10 Minutes before the other breakfast. The tea and coffee we asked for 3 times was eventually brought when we both had finished breakfast almost an hour waiting time in all

Summary: Hopefully the breakfast staff will be helped to achieve their goals and the hotel will continue to be a five star accomm

Positive: Comfortable hotel with nice grounds & bed was very comfortable. Very good breakfast served in restaurant too.

Negative: Rooms were small for the money they charge, shower power was poor ( no bath) carpets were stained in bedroom which need thorough steam clean plus bedroom furniture old & scratched & was generally disappointed with whole mini break experience.

Summary: Chewton Glen Hotel is over-rated I feel … very expensive hotel but need of re-vamp & modernisation.
