Positive: Our stay was generally fine. Staying in a French Chateau from 1750 on our wedding anniversary was a good choice. Bathroom was generally clean. Breakfast was nice with fresh walnuts, breads, orange juice, croissants, yoghurts, nutella and cheese. It was special to have breakfast in a kind of classic historic dining room with multiple guests at a big table. There is a leisure room with billiard, some other games, Reader's digest from the 1950s and those fancy lounge chairs that look like they're from the 19th century. Two old books were placed as decoration on the fire place of our room. It took some searching, but I'm pretty sure one of those was a first edition about Louis 14 from 1717. There is a beautiful garden to have your own cooked dinner, drinks or breakfast.

Negative: There were many things that we didn't like that made our stay much less enjoyable than it could have been. The host was half drunk when we arrived even though we arrived at 21:00 (within check in time). The room was dirty: spider webs on the lamps, floor rugs in room and bathroom looked like they hadn't been washed in a long time. There were big cracks in the ceiling beams, which made us worry in light of the recent collapse of the hotel in Germany. The bed was a bit too short for me, but I definitely did not like to be woken up too early by a rooster and later by the smell of cigarettes.
