Stay inside a piece of history! This cozy cottage was built in 1856 by the Dutch homesteaders and has been updated to include all modern amenities.
You will be close to everything in this fully remodeled 2 bedroom, 1 bath home. Whether you are exploring shops around the square, the trails around Lake Red Rock, or visit family, the Rock House is the perfect place to recharge at night.

From the moment you pull up, you will see how unique this property is! Sit by the fire pit and enjoy the night sky’s. Or dine out on the patio and listen to the birds sing. This house is close to everything but you feel like you are in your own private sanctuary. The house is right next to Central College, a short walk to the square and just a short drive or bike ride to Red Rock Lake.
Inside you will find the comforts of home. Cuddle on the couch and watch a movie, cook dinner in our well appointed Kitchen, and get a good nights rest at the end of your day. Their is a main level bedroom with a comfortable king size mattress. The upstairs space is charming with 2 cozy twin beds. I love comfort when I’m traveling, so I stock the house with extra blankets, pillows, nice soaps, and a coffee bar to wake you up in the morning!
You will have full access to this remodeled 750 square foot cottage with a well furnished kitchen, comfortable living space, 2 bedrooms, and 1 bathroom. The exterior space has a dining area seats 6, a fire pit, and lots of space to play and relax. You can park up to 2 cars in the driveway. The washer and dryer are in the unit for guest use, as well.
I will send check in instructions the morning of your stay. I am available to answer any questions that you have during your stay.
Pella is such a great community! The Rock House is located very close to the Central College campus. So if you are visiting a college student it is the perfect place! The property is very secluded and you will feel like you are in your own sanctuary but it is close to everything in Pella including the downtown square and Lake Red Rock. It is also right on the bike trail.
We have a drive way for parking. You can park up to 2 vehicles during your stay. We are also located on the bike trail. So bring your bikes and explore!
The stairs leading to the upstairs 2nd bedroom are “Dutch”. They are slender and not recommended for guests with mobility issues. Please watch your step!
This house is 150 years old and has been beautifully restored for our guests to enjoy. All we ask is that you treat it with the care it deserves. Our goal is to share it will people and preserve it, so it can be here for the next 150 years!

Summary: The home was a great Historical place to stay. Close to Central College and a biking path. Everything was provided, i.e. towels, shampoo, body wash, Q-tips, toaster, microwave, etc. A caution for seniors -If there are more than 2 of you, you'll have to use the upstairs. The steps to it are very narrow - 6 inches. When we visit again, I hope to stay in this VRBO.

Summary: We had another excellent week long visit to Pella in general and specifically at the Rock House Property. The historic Rock House offers a relaxing blend of old and new. The pleasant weather allowed us to take full advantage of the patio and fire pit areas. The location suited us perfectly. Minutes from downtown plus a bicycle path at our door step. As cyclists, the location is perfect for exploring not only the city but the Red Rock Trail System. We highly recommend both the accommodations and the outdoor adventures.

Summary: We have had the pleasure if staying in two different properties owned by Andrea in Pella Iowa. Both times we have been impressed by the hosts responsiveness and kindness even before our arrival. This charming Modern and cozy retreat is exactly that! The kitchen has everything you need. The coffee bar is a wonderful source of enjoyment. Though this cottage is small, it is so perfectly designed that updated that it feels bigger than it is. The location is perfect, we enjoyed walks around central college across the street. We spent days enjoying the Tulips in the square. The open views were beautiful for watching the sun and clouds move through the sky and fields. Thank you Andrea for a second wonderful experience.
