‘The Fisherman’s Cottage’, (Le Chaumiere des Pecheurs) is the largest of three cottages available at Le Moulin de Boutineau, and has a beautiful ancient vine decorating the stone frontage and three bedrooms; two doubles and one twin plus a fully equipped bathroom, kitchen and living/dining area.
Ground Floor: With double doors out onto the pretty main courtyard, the living/dining room has a table, chairs and comfortable seating area with a sofa and two armchairs, plus a flat screen TV for watching dvd’s, a modern USB music tower system and free WIFI. The adjoining open plan kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine plus all the cups, glasses, pans, cutlery etc needed for a group of six people plus a dining table and six chairs. The ground floor is completed by a double bedroom with its own private double doors also leading onto the courtyard.
First Floor: The main bedroom with oak beams and a countryside view from the window has a comfortable double-bed while the twin bedroom also with traditional oak beams, has a view across the millpond and orchard at the rear. The fitted bathroom has a bath/modern shower, toilet and washbasin.
Le Moulin de Boutineau and its three charming fully restored cottages lies in Indre-et-Loire, the tranquil countryside heart of the Loire Valley - but is not remote, just 2 kms from the famous medieval town of Loches, with its own chateau, restaurants, café’s, bars, shops and lively twice-weekly market.
Spend idyllic family days relaxing around a sparkling 12x6 metre heated swimming-pool with a nearby orchard activity area or explore the 15 acres of magnificent tree-lined grounds, fields and woods surrounding this peaceful old watermill that dates back to the 1730's. If you enjoy carp fishing there are carp (15-40 lbs plus) on the glorious private 2.5 acre Moulin Lake. The three delightful oak-beamed cottages which sleep 6, 4+1 and a romantic 2 can also accommodate an exclusive party of 13 and all have their own garden/patio and BBQ area, as well as cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, TV/DVD/stereo music tower, full central heating and access to washing/drying facilities, the swimming pool, hot-tub, bicycles, badminton and table-tennis.
Carp Fishing at Moulin de Boutineau: There is a glorious, private 2.5 acre lake where you can fish for carp (mirror & common 15-40 lbs plus) plus some large tench. It has level, easy walking access around the entire perimeter which is lined with a wide variety of mature trees, flowers and the abundant wildlife includes kingfishers and red squirrels. It is an idyllic, tranquil setting for carp fishing. There are five marked swims (max. 4 anglers), an accessible island, and we also have a range of standard carp fishing equipment for hire as well as a selection of quality baits available. Our beautiful, pristine fish will give you quite a fight, but are of course, just for catching, photographing and releasing again!
It is now possible to carp fish exclusively for 23 weeks of the season on the Moulin Lake, but only by booking the Fisherman's Cottage during the early/late periods of March-mid July and early September-November. The cost of exclusive carp fishing rights for the week for 2-4 anglers in the Fisherman's Cottage is included in the price shown. The cost of non-exclusive Carp Fishing during the High Summer season from mid-July to early September is 150 euros per angler per week or 50 euros per day and is NOT included in the price shown for this High Summer period. You must be staying here to carp fish on the lake, making it all a great combination of value, comfort, accessibility and privacy.

Summary: What a great place . The cottage had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable . The pool was lovely and peaceful. The fishing was fantastic - I had 3 personal best fish within 30 mins one day . The location is handy for the restaurants and bars of Loches .

Summary: Le Moulin is in a fantastic location, set in the country side, but 5 mins from a medieval town of Loches. Within a hours drive are several chateaus, vin yards and arguably Europe's best zoo which is a must see. The accommodation is first rate, clean & well equipped. Jude and Julian are fantastic hosts, nothing is too much hassle, you are made to feel like one of the family and don't mention the "W" word (work) since its banned by Jude! We experienced 3 of Jude's meals, all combined with Julian's excellent wine recommendation -all were first rate. All in all, a fantastic holiday experience. Thanks Jude and Julian and we'll see you next year!

Summary: We stayed in the bread oven last year and were so impressed with all we got then we felt we needed to share our love of this place with two of our friends by staying in le chaumiere des pecheurs with them this year. our friends agreed with us that the photos don't do this amazing place justice let alone the lovely treatment we received from our hosts Julian and Jude. Discovering the local activities and attractions was made easier by the plethora of Information in the itinerary provided with the gite. We thoroughly recommend without reservation this place for holidays even if your not into fishing. Looking forward to coming back again next year, we're hooked.

Summary: Fantastic property, fantastic Lake and a superb location in a beautiful region of France. The weather was beautiful, the fishing was great and the hosts, Julian and Jude, made the week long stay we had unforgettable. The homemade food served up by Jude was of a quality restaurant standard and nothing was too much effort to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. The fishing produced a number of 30lb plus carp from a mature lake with great features. Julian supplies bait and tackle if needed which is very handy. The local town is a twenty five minute walk away which had all the required amenities plus more. Restaurants, bars, supermarkets and shopping. Cannot fault this holiday, would definitely recommend.

Summary: Visited in 2012 for a short fishing holiday and loved it so much we returned this year with the family. A perfect family holiday was had! Relaxing by the pool, strolling to nearby Loche to buy wonderful food and wine for BBQ's a lovely historical town with great charm. Jude provided us with a delicious evening meal sitting outside in the evening warmth. Fishing by the lake was great..23lb carp made it special. A beautiful part of France with very considerate pleasant friendly hosts...would definitely recommend

Summary: We have stayed in the Bread Oven cottage two years running July 2013 + July 2014 and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing restful holiday at a tranquil setting. Our hosts Jude and Julian were always on hand if we needed them to offer information and advice but also gave us our privacy. The fishing is great with good sized carp ( not easy to catch) but well worth persevering. Another major positive is not only the beauty of the location in a rural oasis but only 5 minutes drive away along country traffic free lanes is the beautiful town of Loches steeped in history with everything you could want. Overall a wonderful holiday experience.

Summary: One of the best holidays we have ever had. Julian and Jude are great hosts and looked after us brilliantly. The fishing was great and with the mix of the lake and the pool there's something to suit everyone. The cottage was perfect for the 5 of us clean and well equipped. We had a few of Jude's fabulous meals during the 2 weeks and would thoroughly recommend them. All in all we had a fantastic time and will definitely return.

Summary: Whilst planning the review of our holiday we have browsed through previous comments and found that our words have already been emphasised very clearly. Those of you considering booking a holiday at the Moulin - it really is as good as people have described. The welcome was warm and genuine. Jude and Julian truly want you to have a good holiday and will do whatever they can to make sure that you do. At the end of our holiday we both agreed that we couldn't have improved our holiday in any way. We had 2 fantastic meals cooked by Jude and can't recommend her hospitality enough. We chose to eat on Jude and Julian's veranda at the back of their house overlooking their garden making it a very special occasion. The delicious aperitif from Julian has resulted in us bringing back 3 bottles of Giffard liqueur! We also asked for a restaurant recommendation in Loches, and Jude not only recommended a great place (The Gerbe d'Or), but made the booking for us ensuring that we had the best table and excellent service. The Moulin is set in a peaceful rural area, but just 5 mins from Loches where there is easy parking, a street market and lots of historical things to see - the Keep is highly recommended. The pool is amazing, meticulously maintained with ample shade under the apple trees for those really sunny times. Jude described the Four a pain as a wendy house for adults, and that is a perfect description. It is small and compact but plenty big enough for 2. The steps up to the mezzanine bedroom are not for the faint hearted, but totally manageable and in keeping with the property. Overall, the property is peaceful and a treat to stay in and we look forward to a return visit.
