A private, bright and spacious Cottage - perfect for a relaxing break and ideally located for exploring the surrounding areas.
Ideal base for touring: the Cliffs of Moher, Kylemore Abbey, Connemara, Aran Islands, The Burren, Co Clare, Cong, Galway City.
Situated in a rural area, just 10/15 minutes drive from Galway City centre.
3 minutes drive to restaurants, pubs and shops in local village.
Galway City Centre (Eyre Square) is 5 miles (8km) away.
Galway Race Course (Ballybrit) is 3 miles (5km) away.
Spacious, peaceful, cosy, self contained Charming Irish Country Cottage. There is a large and comfortable open-plan living / dining / kitchen area with all modern appliances.
Amenities: Oil central heating with stone fireplace and multi- fuel stove.
Fuel, power and starter pack for fire, bed linen, towels, and WiFi.
Two USB sockets to charge phone in Livingroom.
Kitchen is well equipped with coffee maker, fridge, dishwasher and hob.
Utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer, microwave, iron and ironing-board.
A welcome pack is provided.
Two bedrooms: one on ground floor with a comfortable 5ft Kingsize bed, (US Queen) and upstairs another 5ft Kingsize bed (US Queen) with ensuite bathroom. It sleeps four people comfortably.
Main bathroom downstairs with walk in shower, wash hand basin and toilet.
There is a garden to the side of the cottage with garden furniture.
The Cottage is surrounded by a hedge and enclosed with a gate as well as off road parking.
The property can sleep 4 pax maximum.
NO pets allowed and NO smoking in the Cottage.
NOT suitable for young children as bedrooms are not located on the same floor.
There are no facilities for infants/young children at the Cottage.
We live close by and are available to assist you, if required, during your stay.
There is a side walk/footpath to the local village which is 1 mile (2km) away.

Summary: A comfortable and cosy cottage that has been kitted out in a modern style. All the facilities were as we needed, though it was so warm we didn’t try out the wood/peat burner.It’s a great location to explore Galway.Cathy was very welcoming, her pre visit instructions were spot on, and she popped round when we arrived to make sure all was well, that personal touch along with a few supplies was just enough.

Summary: The Giles Cottage in Claregalway is wonderful. Everything was perfect. We stayed a month and did not have one problem. The location is great and having a rental car the whole time made the day trips easy. Cathy and Martin are so nice and helpful. The town of Claregalway has everything you need. And the City of Galway is lovely. Highly recommend!

Summary: We couldn't have imagined a more delightful stay than this charming cottage in Claregalway! From the moment we stepped inside, the warmth and character of the home instantly welcomed us. Every detail—from cozy furnishings to thoughtful touches throughout—made us feel right at home. We were greeted by a toasty peat log fire in the stove. There was even coffee and tea in the cupboard, milk in the fridge, and other tasty morsels that were all much appreciated upon our arrival!The cottage is beautifully maintained and immaculately clean. It offers the perfect blend of comfort and modern amenities. This spacious cottage served as an ideal base for exploring Galway and the surrounding countryside from our own peaceful retreat. Our host was incredibly thoughtful and responsive, making sure we had everything we needed for a memorable stay. Their hospitality showed strongly in all the thoughtful touches to anticipate every need. This includes a detailed notebook with everything you could possibly want to know about the area and nearby attractions and many books on the local landscape.One note to be aware of –if you are traveling with three/four people or plan to use both bedrooms, that is what triggers the “additional guest fee,” which is not very clear on the VRBO website. For us, it was an unexpected 65 euro additional per night.Despite that, if you're seeking genuine Irish charm and a home that truly feels welcoming, this is the place to stay. Highly recommended!!

Summary: When looking for a quiet, cozy location just on the outskirts of Galway Center, look no further than booking this cottage.During some downtime, I had the luxury of reading through the Cottages Guest Book. The Giles Cottage has had guests from all over the world... from Australia to Kenya (and places in between). In just about all cases, each Guest wrote about the hominess of the cottage, as well as all of the love Cathy and her husband have put into this place.Cathy is the consummate host with impeccable communication and even going as far as personally meeting me to assist in reducing and disposing of the ashes in the fireplace. If looking for a place just outside of Galway City Center, this gem should be on the top of your list!

Summary: The Stay @ Giles Cottage met our expectations, and more. The space is quiet and peaceful, which is very welcomed after a day in the city. Walking distance of the regular bus to Galway, and walking to Claregalway is very possible….No issue recommending this location and what it offers….Thanks Cathy

Summary: We were working at our Galway office and this was an ideal base. After a long fight from New Zealand we arrived to a beautifully presented cottage, complete with a welcome basket. Close to Claregalway and Galway we couldn't have asked for more. Cathy was a great host, and nothing was a problem. We will be back.
