Summary: After our 2hr drive, it was a welcomed respite! Our stay was mid-week, so it was lovely to have a quiet stay in the first floor two room suite. We enjoyed excellent wine and jazz playing softly in the background. John made thee BEST pancakes I've EVER had. Our family felt welcome and at home. Would absolutely recommend & return again!

Summary: We were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the Charles Bass House was. John, the host, was extremely gracious and handled our minimal food allergies with ease. We had what was probably the best breakfast of our vacation. We recommend staying here and if we find ourselves even remotely in the South Boston area again, we would not hesitate to return. Highly recommended!

Summary: John was the consummate host in this lovely BNB. We had more than plenty of room to move around. The location was just close enough to get to a handful of restaurants and shops with a quick drive but the neighborhood was also walkable and quiet at night. John gave us plenty of good ideas for a day trip and nearby sights.

Summary: We loved how much space we had in our suite and how spotless everything was at the property. We particularly appreciated the complementary refreshments and the beautiful breakfast table setting. I absolutely recommend staying here if you are visiting South Boston! What a lovely gem.

Summary: John, the owner, is a most excellent host. He was extremely nice, friendly, helpful and a good cook! The place was stocked with everything you could possibly want, food, beverages, towels, flatware, dishes, glasses, etc. The large, private jacuzzi was great! The home is the quintessential elegant, southern mansion built around 1900.
