Former hunting lodge burnt down during the Revolution, the current residence, rebuilt in 1810, is surrounded by a large park with a pond.

Summary: The house exceeded our expectations, which were high to begin with! The pool and ping pong table gave us plenty of recreation. Catherine and her family live a stone's throw away so were available to answer any questions. The well-stocked kitchen gave us ample space and equipment to make delicious meals. I would highly recommend this place to any family looking for a lovely get-together.

Summary: Plenty of space and freedom for our mixed aged family group, both inside and outside the house. We all loved the pool. All essentials were available for cooking etc in the kitchen, but the weather was kind and we barbecued and ate outside most of the time. We had a truly memorable week there.

Summary: We were a family group of 13 consisting of 6 children and 7 adults from Ireland, the USA and the UK. The children were aged from 9 to 14. We were celebrating a golden wedding anniversary and a couple of birthdays. Pierre Levee had everything we needed and was extremely well equipped. We had thought that we would be travelling around the region every day but the Domaine provided so much that we stayed put and enjoyed playing in the excellent pool, exploring the grounds, playing football, frisbee, boules, table tennis, swingball, etc. The weather was so good all week that we had almost all our meals outside using the excellent gas barbeque. The modern well equipped kitchen had everything we needed. The children all slept on the upper floor, with the adults one floor below. There was plenty of space and the modern ensuites, bathrooms and toilets were excellent. Catherine and Jacques met us on arrival and gave us a detailed tour of the house, gardens and pool area. They were always contactable by phone should we have a question. It helped that they both speak excellent English. It was so nice being in such a large quiet domaine all to ourselves, yet within a 5 minute drive to the local boulangerie, mini market, pharmacy and newsagent. We enjoyed visiting the nearby coastal town of Pornic, Les Moutiers, Guerande, Croisic and some neighbouring beaches but were always happy to return to the fun around the house and pool. It was ideal for us and we would certainly recommend it, and hope to visit again.

Summary: Domaine de Pierre Levée is a beautiful home in a convenient location, absolutely perfect for family reunions. We stayed here last week with our extended family (a group of 18, ranging in age from 10 to 75) and the house accommodated all of us perfectly. It was spacious, clean, and inviting, with a large dining room and living room, ideal for family gatherings. We have stayed at many houses over the last decade and none was as beautiful or elegant as this one. The location of the house also provides easy access to different regions of France. It is close to the city of Nantes and the beach at Pornic, and it is also relatively easy to use the house as a launching pad for trips to Brittany and Normandy and to the castles and vineyards of the Loire Valley. We had a wonderful time at Pierre Levee and would highly recommend it!

Summary: What a joy to spend a long week-end in such a beautiful and spacious house and moreover tipically French. The house is beautifully furnished with spacious rooms and extremely nice bathrooms. I felt totally at home and it's just perfect for a long week-end or more, with a bunch of friends or family. The kitchen is extremely well equiped, much better than a lot of places I've been to and the surroundings are so peaceful and ideal when you want to just sunbathe beside the swimming pool or play volleyball. The owners are particularly charming and welcoming and love sharing the history of their family house. I really recommend the "Domaine de Pierre Levée" without any hesitation. Thanks again for letting us have a great stay !

Summary: We were a party of 16, 3 generations comprising 9 adults and 7 children. The house more than catered for our needs and far exceeded our expectations. The owners had thought of everything and could not do enough for us even down to sourcing a car seat for one of the grandchildren. Everyone could easily amuse themselves all day without leaving the property although we obviously did. The beaches, Nantes, Pornic, the U Boat pens and the bunker were some of the many highlights not forgetting the expeditions to the local vineyards! We would thoroughly recommend Domaine de Pierre Levee.

Summary: We stayed at Pierre Levee for a week with 16 people. The house is very nicely renovated, all comfort is there. Plenty of bed- and bathrooms for our group. We have had lovely weather which meant we could enjoy the large gardens for BBQ, volleyball, football or some fishing. The area is quiet which makes you feel there is nobody around. The pool is very nice, quite large and the heating is good. The state of the house, the gardens and the pool are excellent. Nantes is nearby, the sea at Pornic, and a bit further at La Baule is only a short drive by car. We have enjoyed our stay very much, no negatives and recommend this house to others.

Summary: We had a wonderful week at Pierre Levee as a family group of 15, including 7 children, parents and grandparents. The house suited our needs perfectly and we were impressed with the way the kitchen, bathrooms etc. had been modernised while maintaining the original character of the house. The children loved the pool and had great fun with the rowing boat on the lake and there was plenty of room for games of football, cricket, tennis and of course boules. There are many possibilities for outings in the area although the children were reluctant to leave the house and grounds! The owners were very friendly, welcoming and helpful and speak excellent English.

Summary: Over the years we have rented some great places in Normandy and Brittany for our family reunions. Domaine de Pierre Levée exceeded our expectations and was perfect for our needs. The house is as described on the website but far more beautiful than pictures can show. We spent 2 wonderful weeks in Pierre Levée this July / August of 2015. The history of the house is impressive. There is even an ancient menhir in the surrounding Princé forest. It is a quiet location with working farms nearby. We would often see the neighbor’s horses and foal stroll into view. Our early risers saw deer in the field. It’s a great area for biking, running or long walks. The kitchen is modern & updated but has a beautiful old fireplace with a large table in front of it. There is an extra refrigerator/freezer in the next room and a well-equipped laundry room. Although there are antiques everywhere, the house does not feel like a museum. The decoration is cozy, with warm colors and we felt at ease. We were happy to be able to use the piano in the TV room. The website picture does not really show how many people the dining room can hold. For our stay the dining room table was extended to seat 18-20 guests comfortably. We had most of our meals outside. There is a BBQ and more than enough tables and chairs to accommodate a large group. Bedrooms are beautifully decorated. Many have renovated en suite bathrooms. The master bedroom has a balcony overlooking the pond and meadows. “The Napoleon bedroom” was an instant success. We received a warm welcome from the owners when we arrived and they were there when we left. Owners and neighbors were very helpful and accommodating. We admire the owner’s efforts to restore and conserve the history of their property and appreciate they share it with visitors. We can highly recommend this rental to friends / future vacationers and would love to come back ourselves. We have even been wondering how awesome the house would be in the winter time!
