'La Metairie des Ducs' Is a spacious 18C house, comfortably sleeping up to 8 people. The house has a large open plan kitchen, dining room, separate lounge and wet room on the ground floor. This opens out onto a large covered terrace with BBQ area and private garden. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, large landing with bathroom and separate WC. The pool is located to the rear of the property in a large open area with lovely views. There is also a shaded games barn, with a pool table, ping pong ,darts and other games to keep everyone entertained. An ideal spot for total relaxation.

Summary: We stayed for a week and had an incredible time. The area is very quiet and quaint, perfect for walks around the surrounding areas or just relaxing by the pool. On-site barbecue was great as we used the every evening. Rooms were cool, clean and had everything we needed. The kids enjoyed themselves immensely and I couldn’t thank Julie enough for being so accommodating, especially with the addition of the inflatables! House is a short drive away from the village if Duras which has plenty of day and night markets. Julie was a font of knowledge on when and what to do! Lovely host and I would thoroughly recommend her!

Summary: We had a fantastic holiday in the beautiful house with the large swimming pool. The house was very clean and fully equipped. The children had a great time with the tennis table and in the swimming pool. It is a beautiful and peaceful area! Thank you very much!

Summary: Set in the small commune of Sainte-Colombe-de-Duras with a charming Roman church just across the road who’s chimes gently awoke us in the morning - This characterful countryside property has everything you need! By far it’s best feature (for us) was the fantastically sized swimming pool which we spent most of our relaxing time around. Beautiful views across the fields as you take a refreshing dip and let your cares melt away! The location is ideal for 5 mins drive to Duras which has a Chateau, markets, artizanales and bars/restaurants. For the oenophiles I would certainly recommend a visit to Saint-Émilion which was an easy 30-40 mins drive - amazing place - just get there very early to avoid the search for parking! Thanks Julie and Chris - We had a smashing week in the sunshine!

Summary: This property is just the place you need if you want quiet and relaxation . It is adequately furnished , for all your culinary needs . The only thing it is missing is a place near by to get your fresh bread from , but we stocked up every time we went to the local mini supermarket about a 10 minute drive away in Duras . The outside furniture could do with a bit of a refurb , but on the whole it was very pleasant to sit outside at night and listen to all the different birds and the church bells and eat the grapes off the vine on your patio . Don't forget your mosquito repellent! They were certainly active whilst we were there the last 2 weeks of September, also it was harvest time as well , so lots of flies etc . We would like to thank Julie and Chris for helping us out at the end of the holiday as well , super , kind people .

Summary: Beautiful old and authentic house with beautiful swimming pool and great games room. We spent a week at Sainte-Colombe-de-Duras, two families (4 adults and 4 children). Fantastic accommodating hosts and lovely place to base yourself to explore the local area. All of us loved the swimming pool and games room. Enjoyed having barbeque at the front terrace, kids loved running around as there was plenty of room to play. Kitchen has everything you need. It was useful to have washing machine as we came with kids. If you are looking for calm, peacefull and relaxing holiday, it's the perfect place to be :) Thanks to Julie and Chris.

Summary: The photos do not do this place justice! It is extremely spacious, clean and overall a great place for a holiday with family and/or friends. Lots of space for everyone to enjoy. The owners are friendly and very helpful without being invasive. The pool is huge, with lots of inflatables available, and in the sun all day long. It is ideal for day time lounging. The covered barn area includes a pool table, table tennis table and air hockey table. It also has a bar area with bar chairs, so it's a good place to cool down when the sunshine gets too hot. In the evening the front porch with built in barbecue is the perfect spot for long dinners, as it gets the last of the evening sun and is nicely located next to the kitchen; we used it every night. As the property is in a very quiet location, a car really is mandatory. Shops are to be found without 10 mins or so. We stayed there as a group of six friends and had a lovely time. Would definitely recommend!
