Positive: The thing I liked the most was the unique style of the House. Also, the Sykes team and the proprietor of the Chapel were incredibly helpful. Brilliant location, superb town vibes and lovely people.

Negative: The property doesn't have a proper garden.

Positive: Chapel House is a fantastic place to stay, especially for families with children. The house has a huge, spacious living room that immediately gives you a real sense of character and atmosphere. You can truly feel the soul of the place. The fireplace is absolutely wonderful and creates a cosy, warm vibe, and the sofas are extremely comfortable. The open-plan kitchen connected to the living area adds even more to the overall impression — it’s well equipped and very practical, making the space perfect for spending time together as a family. Overall, it’s a beautiful and welcoming house, ideal for a relaxed family stay.

Negative: On the downside, there was an issue with the radiators as they seemed to be airlocked, which made the house a bit cold at times. Thankfully, the fireplace always saved the situation. Another thing to be aware of is the hot water — it heats up very quickly, so you need to be careful as it’s easy to get burned. Washing dishes was a bit tricky because of this. Despite these minor issues, we highly recommend this place and would definitely love to come back in the future

Negative: Run down, two broken chairs, no washing machine. Lots of flies inside that we could not get rid of. The radiator fell off the wall, we contacted the owner and booking.com but nobody called us back.

Negative: No curtains or blinds which was rather strange and resulted in waking very early each day and large damp mark on the wall (only informed us at the last minute). No washing machine or dish washer either. It's a great house but needs money spending on it to bring it up to modern SA standards expected..

Positive: A large, bright chapel conversion with plenty of room for a group of eight (two families). Heating and hot water on demand added to the comfort. Open plan on the ground floor was enjoyable. Some of the properties features were aesthetically pleasing, like the stained glass. A quiet village setting with a decent pub in walking distance.

Negative: Walls and flooring were paper thin, which made privacy a little challenging. The kitchen was not suited to catering for more than four. Very small fridge and no large pots, for example made cooking at the property difficult. There’s a dearth of electrical sockets, especially in the basement bedroom. Of the microwave, toaster (which only partially works) and kettle, you could only operate two at a time. Lamps provided in the lower bedroom but no space to plug them in. The place was very dusty and a little dirty, as if no one had rented for a few months. The table and chairs were rickety and felt as if they may break at any moment. The bunk beds needed to be secured to the wall. The decor was very cheap, mismatched and dated.

Summary: Comfortable, spacious, and dated place to lay your head.
