They seem to have thought of every detail to make your stay enjoyable, from sweet treats at the entrance to personalised breakfast options each morning. The rooms are beautifully decorated, with vintage touches. They’re clean, well-appointed, and each has its own unique character. And while Chalk & Cheese feels like a step back in time, it doesn’t sacrifice comfort—plush beds, soft linens, and modern amenities ensure a restful stay. Not managed to investigate the Antique shop yet, but will make sure I do on my next visit. Summary: What a lovely place! Could not ask for anywhere more calm. Normally rushing round as was away on business but lovely breakfast with a cracking pub over the road for dinner. All appliances and bed in room were top quality and all in all an incredibly comfortable pleasant stay.

Summary: Lovely converted school building with an interesting interior and antique shop on site. No complaints. Made to feel welcome on arrive, the Chalk and Cheese is located in the pretty village of Shouldham. Room and house was very quiet and perfect for the stay. The local pub, Kings Arms, serves excellent food with friendly staff. Will use again, next time I am in the area.
