Positive: The villa was beautiful and modern with most of the amenities we expected. The host left snacks and drinks for us which was not expected, but thoughtful. The village was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The host was welcoming and polite.

Negative: The villa was very cold and with only one central heating unit it never really warmed up. We had to wear sweaters and jackets inside. The booking.com website listed a bathtub in the villa, but there was only a shower. I was very disappointed especially since it was so cold and a bath would have helped.

Summary: Very modern accommodation with good amenities. A bit too expensive for off season though.

The location is fantastic, just a short drive from some of Crete’s most iconic beaches like Balos and Falassarna. It’s the perfect spot for anyone looking to explore the area while enjoying a tranquil escape. The hospitality was exceptional. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, always available to assist, and made us feel cared for throughout our stay. Their attention to detail and genuine kindness are remarkable. The apartment itself was spotless and beautifully designed. Every corner was impeccably clean. The outdoor area is stunning, with a lovely yard that is perfect for unwinding after a day at the beach.

Positive: The bed and sofa was ok. Little food for breakfast was provided upon arrival. Washing machine worked.

Negative: All together, the place has nothing to do with luxury. It provides one window, that opens up to a main road. It is like a cave, therefore you need to keep the lights on all day. If you open the door, you are exposed to everything. The sitting area outside is old and partly broken. There is not much space to store personal belongings as everything is packed with cleaning stuff or towels etc. No games, no dishwasher or liquid, no separat bedroom as indicated. You have a curtain to separat the bed to the kitchen area.. The sofabed is in one room with kitchen and dining table. The shower is splashing all over. And most off all, I got some serious insect bites during my night sleep that lasted for 2 weeks itching, sweeling, blistering. All the owner offened, was to spray the place. I am positiv, there is a serious problem of cleaningness in the place.

Positive: Very beautiful apartment with a great patio in the lovely and peaceful village of Kaliviani, immersed in a beautiful countryside. Very nice tavernas nearby at a small walking distance and the closest beaches are just 5 min by car. The check in was absolutely smooth and the apartment, beautifully furnished and super clean has everything you need. Perfect!

Positive: The studio maisonnette we stayed in was perfect for our needs (2 adults with 10-year old twins). In spite of the apparent small size, it is very well set up and furnished with exactly what is needed. We particularly enjoyed the garden where we spent our evenings relaxing once the temperatures cooled off. Also quite practical was that there is a washing machine which we used several times during our stay; this helps if you want to travel lighter. The location is in a very quiet area, however close to several taverns and one exceptional restaurant (Gramboussa) which we totally recommend to try at least once or twice during your stay. To be able to really enjoy and experience the western part of Crete, it is highly recommended that you have your own car / rental car. Falassarna beach, one of the top 10 European beaches, is about 15 min drive, that is where we went most days. There are also other attractions like the Balos lagoon or the botanical gardens close to Chania, and although it might be possible to reach these by bus or taxi, it is surely most practical to have your own transportation. The owner, Nikos, is probably the friendliest person you will ever meet, always smiling and positive! We'd be happy to come back to this location again in the future!

Positive: A lovely place with an amazing host. Spacious, comfy, well-equipped, and tastefully decorated apartment and garden (nice sea view). Plus, nice surprises with goodies like a fruit basket, drinks, groceries, and wine. Peaceful location, perfect for exploring western Crete and its stunning beaches. The host also runs one of Crete's best restaurants, 'Gramboussa', just a short walk away, with delicious food and fantastic atmosphere. Big thanks to Nikos and his team for their warm hospitality and positive vibes every day. We'd love to come back here again someday! :)
