Positive: Very friendly and helpful landlord. Clean and pleasant room with view over rooftop, so quiet.

Negative: Obviously en suite would have been preferable though there was a good choice of loo, shower, bath. And it would have been nice if there were breakfast. Having said this, I enjoyed my one night stay.

Positive: I have stayed there once previously 2 years ago, and was happy to return when a research project took me back to Caversham. Raj the owner is a very friendly and helpful host and happy to spend time chatting, which I did enjoy very much. Nothing is too much trouble and he answers the phone immediately both ahead of your stay or indeed if you have any queries during your stay. The place is spotless, well cared for and comfortable with a personal touch. Much better than a soulless Holiday Inn and dare I say, a lot cheaper. The road it is situated on has a number of takeaways, a Minimart, a cafe for breakfast (for only £5 with a voucher from the owner) and a great pub The Moderation, which also does excellent cuisine...all easily walkable on the same street ! Oh and good wi-fi with more charging points than you could shake a stick at !

Negative: I get freaked out when I can't turn central heating off completely, although I realise that this isn't always possible. I'm just funny that way, but Raj did try to help !

Summary: Very pleasant stay once again, and would return a third time if/when the need arises !

Positive: Amazing welcome and personal guided tour which was very welcoming and informative. Much appreciated. :)

Negative: Note that there are shared bathrooms, but that was no issue for me really and they were super clean.

Positive: Raj is a lovely host very helpful and the rooms were well equipped and comfy. Breakfast at the Gorge Cafe was excellent.

Negative: Would have preferred mugs not paper cups but otherwise perfect

Positive: We were welcomed very warmly on arrival. The room was clean, and had everything we needed for a night of sleep after a long day of travel (trans-Atlantic flight and then a train to Reading). Walking distance to the train station and everything downtown. Quiet too. Decent basic accommodation.

Negative: The property is starting to show its age a bit and could use with a bit of updating, notably in the washrooms.
