Negative: Noisy combi boiler in the kitchen. Difficult to get in and out of parking space. Shower was not powerful enough.

Positive: This was a picturesque quintessential English cottage with all the modern comforts. Everything was beautiful from the plush beds, couch and arm chairs to the lovely garden outside. The host managers were very responsive and helpful and the instructions detailed enough to find and enter the property easily. If there was ever a perfect example of a cottage stay in a quiet town with great value for money this was it. The kitchen was well stocked and we had milk in the fridge, coffee/ tea and biscuits. There was a washer and dryer and dishwasher with appropriate detergents available. We used this stay as a base to visit the Cotswolds, Oxford and Stratford upon Avon. You do need a car to get here but definitely worth it

Positive: The downstairs is quite spacious. The garden down to the stream is delightful. The cottage is well-equipped. The tea, coffee & milk provision was much appreciated, as were the USB chargers.

Negative: Lettings for Causeway Cottage are managed by Sykes Cottages. Obviously, we wouldn’t book directly with Sykes. However, having stayed in this cottage several years ago and given we were paying via Booking, we decided to take the risk. We noted a couple of minor maintenance issues with the cottage which we feel sure the owners will fix. However, it is worth noting that the bedrooms and the parking are quite compact. Also, the bedroom curtains are rather thin, so if you’re not an early riser, you might want to take eye covers if staying during May to August.

Positive: Beautiful cottage, spacious and well furnished. Beds were very comfortable. Self check-in was very easy via a key box.

Negative: Check in and out times a little tight (5pm and 9.30am) would have been 10/10 with a 3pm check in and 10am check out.
