Positive: We spent more than two weeks here. Waking up to the lush island of Cat Ba is the best experience. It's so pretty. The Countryside Homestay's Hosts are friendly and helpful people who will get you good deals on travel and tourism within the area. Their food is fantastic. They are kind and professional. A wonderful family that I would be happy to revisit and recommend to my own family and friends. Incredibly relaxed environment with funny farm animals and a friendly little dog. I'd happily live there if it was possible. My son loved it. We will miss them very much.

Positive: We loved staying in this clean, friendly homestay with Len and his family . Len was so very helpful throughout our stay helping to organise travel and suggesting things to do . Pool was a massive hit with my 2 kids and food was excellent . Great time had for our family of 5 backpacking through Vietnam

Negative: This place is away from the main town- which we preferred as it was much quieter, however you will need to taxi or motorbike around

Positive: Great location away from the busy Cat Ba town and not too far- about 5km- from national park gate. Very helpful owner who efficiently arranged taxi's for us, and good communication before arrival. We enjoyed having a pool to cool off, which was cleaned while we were there. Restuarant menu had a varied range. Overall good value for money.

Negative: We had the garden rooms which, while clean, were a bit jaded - if made nicer would make this place perfect.

Positive: We spent a great 3 days here. The homestay is 8 km out of CatBa town, but very quiet and a great place to chill out, also in the nice swimming pool. Scooters for going into town are available for a small fee. Really great food, from breakfast till dinner. Very tasty and lots of variety. The owner is really friendly and helps you with arranging everything. We did the boattrip with a local guide, it was a great day.

Positive: We couldn't have wished for a better stay! The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. The pool is a nice touch with the hot weather. Food served here is good aswell. The host is most friendly, speaks good English and helps you in any way he can (info, taxi, (boat)tours, busses to elsewhere). Scooter service inhouse, which helps to discover the island of Cat Ba! Location couldn't be better: a quiet oasis just outside of Cat ba town and the harbour, close to the national park and some caves. Definitly would stay here again in the future. No doubt, 10/10 would recommend.

Negative: Only minus: we missen a cotton bedsheet to sleep under, since the blanket was way to hot for this time of year. We got creative and used te matrasscover of the second bed as coverup, but it was not ideal.

Positive: The hosts are so friendly and will assist you with anything they can. They arranged a day tour for me and acted as a taxi service for a small additional few to get me to my next accommodation. The pool is lovely especially after a day of exploring. The food at the restaurant was delicious too!

Negative: No issues for me. The accommodation is not walkable to Cat Ba centre but most people hire a scooter from the hosts. This is also clear in the booking instructions.
