Positive: What a stunning location, overlooking the beach with palm trees. It is enough out of town to be quiet and there are a few restaurants in walking distance. The host Peter was lovely and was helpful with information. The beach is safe to swim in and in the afternoon there is a breeze to cool things down. Sunsets were spectacular!
Negative: The power was off the first day and night, which is not the properties fault, but it was hot. Tap water is salty.
Summary: Wished it was longer

Positive: We liked being just out of the main tourist area. The place was comfortable and clean and we liked the owners…teasing them to call us when they were ready to sell the place. Celestun is still a small Mexican village….sure there are a couple larger establishments…but overall, it is a small town and the vibe is very laid back…and then there are the flamingos!
Summary: If you go for the flamingos…and you want a little luxury, the Castillito just might be right for you.

Positive: I liked the view and the short walk to the beach. Practically no walk, the beach is just downstairs and outside the back
Negative: There was no wi-fi and even though they knew it doesn't work, they still advertised the property as having wi-fi. I think they should let people know there is no wi-fi until they can guarantee it works. It is not a hotel. It is a house with rooms with private entrance. There is only one person at the property who unfortunately cannot always help. They did not have the wi-fi passwords and could not go upstairs to confirm the card with the info was not in the room. I think they need to provide their personnel with all the information they need and more resources to solve issues. For example, the wi-fi issue seemed to be something the attendant just couldn't solve on their own. They called someone else on the phone and the person on the other line just said 'I don't have the passwords. Look for them in the other rooms but it doesn't work anyway'. Hence, since the hotel attendant could not go upstairs, I had to ask the other hotel guests if I could go into their room to find the passwords. It was evident they didn't care about providing the service. It was an uncomfortable situation because the personnel could only apologize but not offer any solution (like calling a technician or something). The internet from our phones didn't work very well so it was hard to look up places to go to eat and any other information we wanted to look up. The person there was very nice but unfortunately couldn't do much. We parked our car inside but had to request they open the garage door if we needed to go out. I also think this is not convenient because it limits a guest's free and easy access. For instance, if we had gone out at night, I would not have liked the idea of waiting outside for someone to open the garage door for us nor having to wake someone up to open it.

Positive: Beautiful sea view, comfy beds, powerful shower. Very quiet area. Kind host
Negative: Nitpicking really, but Some lights were an ugly white. Ants and mosquitos, but that's Celestun in general. Some noisy appliances at the property (e.g in room fridge and something on roof).
Summary: Beautiful and relaxing

Positive: A wonderful location right on the beach with a pool as well. The plant life on the property is gorgeous and attracts a lot of birds. The bed was super comfortable. The place was beyond clean and very peaceful. Loved sitting on the balcony with a wooden chairs and plank table. The owners were very accommodating even when we needed to leave at 4:40 am to go on a tour with the Guardines. Celestún is an exceptional place to see the flamingos. They have Starlink! So great place to upload your photos! Will definitely stay here again!
Summary: An oasis on the ocean near the birds

Positive: I love this place. A bit out of town. About a km but easily walkable. The rooms are spacious and have a wonderful Balcony overlooking the pool and gulf. A Coffee maker is provided for making a morning cup of Joe on the veranda and the small refrigerator keeps the beer cold. Showers hot, beds comfy The grounds are neet and comfortable and a short walk out the back gate you can play in the warm gulf waters. Sandra and Peter are wonderful hosts. They are more than egar to help in way they can. For example Sandra set up a kayak tour of the Mangroves for us. Make sure you meet the doggies. They love the attention. Kitty too.
Negative: Nothing
Summary: Beautiful, peaceful beach stay.
