Positive: I normally never write reviews on Booking, but I feel I have to make an exception here. During my three month trip through Brazil this has been, by far, the best place I have stayed in and the one that most honestly deserves every cent. Castello Malu is a truly wonderful stay in every sense. You are in the middle of a huge garden, with your own private pool, surrounded by nature and completely away from anything artificial. At the same time it feels both very local and absolutely clean and well maintained. The atmosphere here really makes you feel at home in Brazil. The villa itself is spacious and perfect for a couple or a solo teaveler, with everything you need for a longer stay. There are all the cleaning products and practical details you would normally only have at home, so you do not feel like you are in a hotel but rather as if you had actually moved here for a while. There is always a drink available at the bar and the daiquiris and caipirinhas I had here were honestly the best I have had anywhere in Brazil or the world. I first booked one week and ended up extending for a second week because I simply did not want to leave. I recommend this place with all my heart. It is worth every cent and if I could rate it, I would give it 11 out of 10.
