Positive: Magnificent building with historic common spaces and HUGE bedrooms. The best value for money in Puglia as it is basically an event venue with a few bedrooms which they might as well use. Right by the main town square where TSS's men gather to chat the day away! Lots of private parking.

Negative: The staff,.when present (rarely), are.not interested in guests - least warm welcome we have had in Italy. The rooms have nothing beyond the basics,.not even a plastic cup or functioning curtains. The mattress was pretty worn but, to be fair, we slept OK. The magnificent bathroom was equipped with a large jacuzzi but the water was not really hot enough to use it and the handheld shower inevitably sprayed around the bathroom as there was.no shower curtain or screen! Breakfast is just a croissant and packs of dried toast. No fruit or meat/cheese. There were boxes of cornflakes but no bowls to eat them from so we resorted to eating from tea.cups! So, not worth €10 - go down the square for a coffee and croissant instead!

Summary: Good value but don't expect a warm welcome!

Positive: The location is excellent in the middle of the town. Everything is nearby restaurants , pharmacy. The room is very clean and spacious. TV is big and nice. Good fridge.

Negative: There is no staff in the hotel. There is no rubbish bin in the room and outside in the yard, only a small one in the bathroom. The furniture has no nice smell, smell of old things. The bed is not very comfortable.

Positive: Remarkable ancient castle that sadly has been done over in the faux, what I call “Barocco” style with bad art, horrible furniture, lighting etc. Staff was great as was ease of registration, parking etc.

Negative: Perfumes used in linens, horrible fake furnishings and bad art.

Summary: Amazing deal in a super clean recently rehabbed castle.

Positive: A really very lovely building and courtyard. Supper in the courtyard was nice and the bedroom and bathroom were very attractive and spacious.
