Positive: Beautiful gardens in the property, and the outdoor areas with the barbecues are very tranquil. We loved cooking on the charcoal BBQ.

Negative: We've stayed in lots of varying accomodation around the world, however for the price, we didn't think it was great value. Unfortunately our unit number 2, wasn't very clean when we arrived. My wife had to put a number of hairs in the toilet from the floor, we found the bathroom had a very off stale smell the whole time we stayed (we think the drains need cleaning) and the shower was very temperamental and difficult to use. Furthermore the bed was quite uncomfortable and it was hot upstairs where the bed was, with no standing fan or cooling beyond the ceiling fan for the living area. Whilst the towels we were given were very old and thin. Im sure it was once very beautiful place, however it looks like it hasn't had any recent work done to it, which is a shame.

Positive: Quiet village location, with cafes/restaurants nearby. Nice walk to the local beach - Praia da Figueira. We were in casinha 4. I was surprised how spacious it was. Nice decor and furnishings - a lot of thought has gone into creating this accommodation. Very well equipped kitchen. Large shower area, plenty of hot water. Comfortable bed. Living room area was also comfortable. Two small patio areas to catch the morning and afternoon sunshine. There was a useful information book inside the accommodation. Very good WhatsApp communication with the owner, Nienke. The accommodation was a great base for accessing various starting points on the Fishermen's Path.

Negative: It didn't bother us as we didn't use it, but given how spacious casinha 4 is, the TV is rather small!

Positive: Our family loved the house and the garden. Very peaceful and relaxed village. The host Nieki was very friendly, my kids loved playing in the garden picking up apples and watching the fishes . The house is very closed to the beach and several restaurants, only 3 mts drive to the beautiful beach of salema and 27mts to lagos beach meia praia. There was a closer beach 15 mts walk but because we were with 3 young children's we didn't visit. I definitely recommend casinhas da figueira
