Positive: Nice clean, comfortable room. The kitchen is very small so it's a bit difficult to cook in, but we did appreciate having it. The hosts communicated well and helped us book tours. The location is very close to the two biggest grocery stores (they're still pretty small) on the island, but it's a 20 min walk from the beach. The only thing that would have been nice is if the room had a view and a bit more natural light (the window looks out at a hedge), since we spent a lot of time indoors to stay out of the heat. But overall it's comfortable and good value.

Positive: Really nice and helpful host. Juliane gave Me lots of suggestions of affordable and good places to eat in an island where most eateries are more like tourist traps: bad and expensive . Close to the porto and vila dos remédios. Also close to grocery stores. Quiet most of the time . Well equipped kitchen.

Negative: There is a garage or something next door, so there is noise and people walking at your doorstep during the day, but very quiet during the night . The energy was down two nights due to some overuse / low capacity of their system. One night was quickly restored. Just be aware that you may not take a shower and use the cooktop. Other than that, perfect and would for sure come back!

Positive: The host and the care taker were extremely friendly and very responsive. The appartment was very clean. It was a quiet place once you got out of the street. I liked the environment, being close to rural property. It was nice there was very good restorant next door. But the street is unpaved and not kept at all.

Negative: The entrance to the appartment was muddy. They could put some gravel to alleviate the problem. There was a bug in the kitchen. The bathroom door can be more sturdy. The street was busy with large trucks. Apparently there is a depot of constructions materials next door and the truck come to deliver and pickup. The street was very muddy and irregular with the have trucks making big craters. Apparently there is another B&B that dumps sewage on the street and there was strong odor of sewage when you walke by.

Summary: It was a good experience other than the sewage and unkept street and big trucks.

Positive: The people; Nanda and Juliane were both so helpfull! We both don't speak Portugees and Juliane was so helpfull with assisting on WhatsApp. The island (tours/permits) can be somewhat confusion for gringo's but with the help of both ladies we had an amazing stay. Highly recommended! The appartment itself is decent and very clean and all you need for eating at home (on a comfortable porch).

Negative: The appartments are located at the end of a gravel road with lots of trucks parked there.

Summary: Great stay and a 10 for personal touch
