Positive: Absolutely wonderful, magical place! I felt at home immediately, and Carola was the best hostess. She arranged for a taxi to and from the airport, and she even arranged a massage for me to relax in the yoga studio located on the property. The room was clean and cozy with a balcony. The property is relaxing and magical with all the flowers, plants and friendly animals. The food was also amazing. Not only the breakfast, but I opted for dinner during my stay. Overall, it was a superb, wonderful experience, and I would absolutely stay again!

Positive: Hostess was exceptionally accommodating, friendly, and knows the area. She arranged for the best massage, advised about local hikes and places to eat. The breakfast in the morning was nutritious and there is always coffee and tea.

Positive: It is a German country type small hotel in Quito, Ecuador. They offer a decent breakfast with the room. Lunch and dinner have to be ordered in advance and it is prepared at a reasonable price. The hotel has a small eating room and the tables are assigned to the guest rooms. The location of the hotel is its biggest attraction. The backyard has a tropical garden with huge trees and lovely flowers all around. That aspect of the hotel is unmatched. The owner makes you feel at home and the location of the hotel is very safe. It is located in a town called Cumbaya in the outskirts of Quito. The actitude of the hotel is about 1000 feet lower than Quito itself. There is a shopping center calle Scala about two blocks from the hotel. If you are looking for the upmost luxury location and confortable place, this is not it. Also, they do not provide TV on your room so bring your PC.

Negative: The shower stall in the bathroom could be improved. Also the temperature of the town is fairly constand year around so they do not use ACs or heating units. However each room has a fireplace and wood is provided if you choose to set up a fire. The owner is German, and also speaks some English. Spanish is spoken by the staff.

Summary: A lovely place for a nature lover. Great if you appreciate a german small town environment.

Positive: They make amazing breakfast in the morning, and in general try to accommodate to make everything easy for you! I accidentally booked a room for 2 people, and instead of charging me they offered to lower my fee since I came alone!

Positive: Beautiful property right near Scala Shopping, yet nestled inside of a large garden estate, so you feel like you are in the countryside while being central to many attractions in Cumbaya. Excellent breakfast and attentive staff.

Positive: The location was a 15 min walk to Cumbaya square were all the restaurants and pubs are. Quiet location makes you feel like you’re not in middle of a city. The breakfast was a nice touch every morning

Negative: The hot water was hit and miss. As you shower you many got cold water with intermittent spurts of warm water. Watch out for the bed in room 7 the bed frame is a shin killer it sticks out 6 inches from mattress all the way around.
