Negative: The property was clean and good value. My only comment is it would have been helpful to know before arrival about the payment process. Upon arrival Luigi then advised payment was either by cash or an IBAN bank transfer which would have incurred additional bank fees. Particularly as Santo Steffano is very remote and had just driven a number of hours up the morning.

Positive: Basic apartment consisting of a spacious dining/living room, two medium size bedrooms, and a small bathroom with a shower. The location of the apartment is perfect to enjoy this beautiful old isolated village on a hilltop, with ample parking space in a nearby spot. It’s very close to Rocca Calacio and Campo Imperatore. The host provided us with some crackers, jam, milk, and juice. We really appreciate this gesture. The apartment was clean. It is ideal for a couple who prefers a quiet and peaceful place and wishes to explore this beautiful medieval village.

Negative: Communication was only by WhatsApp. We need to make a self-check-in but it was very easy. At no time did the host meet with us. The apartment is in a small alley with some construction materials on the site. It was a little bit shabby outside. The towels provided were not of good quality. Guests expect better to be more comfortable. Host offers you the option to pay in cash or bank transfer. So be prepared because there are no banks or cash deposit machines nearby. If you are considering your stay here, also note these suggestions. We spent our Easter holidays here and still; we had difficulty finding a restaurant open. Most of the restaurants were closed. Seems that most of them will open only on the weekends. We had to drive some kilometers away from here for dinner. Wondering if one will find a shop for his basic daily needs; so book a place where you are served a good breakfast. In my opinion, one or two days here is enough to explore the village and the surroundings. During bad weather, expect interruptions in all mobile phone lines and GPS.
