Casa del Perro Feliz provides a relaxing, comfortable and affordable getaway just 5 miles away from downtown Tulum. Experience the tranquility, beauty and comfort of a private beachfront villa. With its breathtaking views, private pool, rooftop deck and private beach, Casa del Perro Feliz is perfect for lazy days of sunning, swimming, kayaking and sipping margaritas or having a massage under the palm trees.
Well appointed and well maintained, this 3 Bedroom, 3 1/2 bath beachfront villa is located on quiet, security gated, Tankah Bay minutes from the hustle and bustle of Tulum and the Tulum Ruins. Tucked into the curve of the bay, the villa is built among the palms and the indigenous trees on a half acre lot, behind a large, gated, stone wall. Casa del Perro Feliz has one of the larger lots on the bay with 99’ of beach frontage.
The floor plan is very user friendly, and all bedrooms have en suite baths, pillow-top mattresses, box springs and cotton bed linens. The villa features an open floor plan with Mexican tile floors, Mahogany woodwork, a well equipped cook's kitchen, and handmade custom furniture.
Designed to be environmentally friendly and not require air conditioning, the passive solar design, 9 1/2 ft. high ceilings, Hunter ceiling fans, and strategically placed, screened windows, provide soothing sea breezes along with views of the ocean and keep the house cool and comfortable. Enjoy the sound of the waves lapping on the shore, and the breezes rustling in the palm leaves instead of the hum of the air conditioner.
Our caretakers live on-site, in a separate house along with our "Casa dogs"- Moni and Blanquita. They, along with our English-speaking property manager are there to help make your visit comfortable and enjoyable.
Just wait until late afternoon and sunset - and enjoy the spectacular views and perhaps a special Margarita prepared by our caretaker Ruben! When night falls, the fiesta begins. Fire up the BBQ, and cook your favorite meal. Don't feel like cooking? We have six restaurants within walking distance of the villa or you can hire Ruben and Lourdes to prepare one of their delicious specialties - after all - you're on vacation!
Tankah is a small, gated beach community in between Tulum and Akumal, with nice beachfront homes, a few boutique hotels, all situated on a quiet, sparkling bay, with white sand beaches. We currently have 6 restaurants and two Dive shops and the Manati Cenote within walking distance from the villa.
We have been visiting the area for over 35 years, and feel that Tankah offers the best of both worlds; nature & seclusion with nearby amenities such as shopping, restaurants and cultural sites.

Summary: We had a great stay at this wonderfully maintained casa. Ann gave superb information and is very easy to communicate with. The on-site staff(living in a separate house) were very kind and accommodating, plus they served us many tasty meals. Right outside the backdoor are several relaxing spots to soak in the beautiful views. There are many activities close by which my family took advantage of. I chose to spend most days at the house, snorkeling or kayaking right off the back of the house. Thank you Ann for letting us stay and we hope we will be back soon.

Summary: Everything about this place is magical. From Ruben and Lourdes overseeing the property and cooking amazing meals to the breezy days and nights overlooking the lagoon. Snorkeling in the lagoon kayaking and swimming in your own private swimming pool along with visiting all the sights around the area made it a perfect vacation with the family. I highly recommend this place! I would come back in a heartbeat!

Summary: We had a fabulous family vacation at Casa de Perro Feliz. Ann had fantastic communication leading up to our check-in and was full of helpful tips and advice. And Ruben and Lourdes were lovely and friendly caretakers. Lourdes cooked us a super yummy dinner one night. It was a perfect quiet family vacation and we enjoyed lounging in the pool, cruising on kayaks in the bay and venturing into Tulum. We hope to be back sometime soon!

Summary: Our group of 4 adults and 2 kids (10, 12) had a wonderful time at Casa del Perro Feliz. From the start, Ann was a responsive host, providing detailed information and ensuring everything was planned for our stay well in advance. The house is lovely - furnished with comfortable beds, seating areas, plenty of bathrooms, and relaxing nooks. The pool was a hit, especially since the beaches all over the coast have been struggling with seaweed this year. The kitchen was the best equipped any of us have had at a rental property - very user-friendly! The onsite caretakers were lovely, helping with everything from getting the grill going to inflating pool toys. We took advantage of their cooking services for two nights and highly recommend them to future travelers. Overall, we were consistently happy with the property - no complaints!

Summary: This place is exactly like the photos and it felt like being at a private resort. We enjoyed everything about our stay there. Summary: Our stay at Ann’s home was perfect! The house itself is comfortable and beautifully crafted. My husband and I loved relaxing on the roof, near the pool, and along the waterfront. With so much to do near by you can have whatever balance of relaxation and adventure you’re looking for. The property caretakers are lovely people and It was so nice to have delicious dinners cooked in house by them at the end of a long day. We will definitely be back

Summary: Words cannot express how thankful I am for such a wonderful, special family trip. We planned this about a year ago after the kids helped us do research & we voted on our 2022 Thanksgiving adventure. We spent 9 days in Mexico, most of which (7 days) was at this property- the most beautiful house right outside of Akumal “place of the turtles” on Tankah Bay. We laughed, learned, explored (snorkeling in the bay every day!), danced, cheered (watching world cup ⚽️ games at a little restaurant down the street), swam in Cenotes and with sea turtles (SO incredibly amazing!!!), met wonderful people and much, much more. It was an experience of a lifetime. The house was so clean, cozy and beautiful. Ruben and Lourdes, who help take care of the property, we amazing! They made the trip even more special. They were kind, made delicious meals and we just really enjoyed their presence and practicing our Spanish with them. Ann, the property owner, could not have been more helpful (sending us all that we needed to know to plan for our adventure and more!). You can tell she loves sharing her beautiful home and love of Mexico with others. We are so grateful we chose this house and property and would love to go back some day. Our kids were crying when we left but, we know we will all hold this trip and the memories we made for a lifetime.
