Summary: Such a wonderful place. We loved every minute. Its absolutely beautiful, has a refreshing pool and nearby restaurants. The picnic breakfast each morning, brought to your room in a basket was such a surprising treat.

Summary: wonderful place with unbelievable location and view of the Douro river and Douro valley, located in the middle of the vineyards, it is a very special experience enjoying both the comfort of the villa and the beauty of the scenery all around.

Summary: We had a most wonderful stay at Casa de Canilhas in the Douro Valley. Our room overlooked the Douro, we had lovely sunny weather, and sitting on the balcony was so peaceful. We walked into town for dinner one evening and bought food at the grocery to eat on the balcony the second evening. Most highly recommend.

Summary: Casa de Canilhas is a tucked away treasure in the heart of the Douro valley. A bit hard to find at first but once you're there it's worth a visit. There are no common indoor areas so you stay in your room or on a private terrace but can share the gorgeous outdoor pool. Breakfast is served to you in your room. Unfortunately, there was work being done in the building next to my casita: the noise and radio started at 8 AM which detracted from the peace and magic of the area

Summary: Loved the views frim our terrace, and our picnic breakfasts were just perfect. Its a little off the beaten track, but worth the drive.

Summary: Hotel is very nice. It is family run. Loved the view overlooking the river. Really calm and tranquil. Very nice hosts. The main issue with this was with Expedia booking. They failed to tell us that this hotel does not accept credit cards— they only accept cash. We found out when we were already in Portugal. Hosts were apologetic and told us that Expedia has been told multiple times about the payment in cash only. Despite my e-mails to Expedia team, I never received any response. Very disappointed with Expedia.
