Casa da Burra is a rural house, built in basalt stone, in the 19th century, with typical architecture of the region. Recently restored, respecting the original design, maintaining some basaltic stone walls and the traditional wood oven. Attached to the house, there was a small Arribana "Casa da Burra" that served to keep animals and provide agricultural support, it is currently integrated into the house, having been transformed into a living room (hence the name of the house).
It is inserted in a small typical Azorean village, in São Pedro, Nordeste, São Miguel Açores, close to Serra da Tronqueira and Pico da vara.
Away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities, the atmosphere of peace and tranquility invites you to rest, where the relationship between the humanized landscape and nature, still presents a valuable balance. It is the perfect choice for those looking for peace and nature, all combined in one place, with stunning views over the neighboring parish of Santo António, the sea and the green of the mountains.

Summary: Steeped in history this was a real gem. If you want authentic accommodations this is it. This is a large home decorated with antiques and full of charm. We were welcomed by our hosts and given an in-depth tour of the place. Wonderful welcome basket boasting some of the islands fares. Loved it!

Summary: It was a nice, quiet house in a quaint village. Perfect to watch the Sunset from the Garden :) Sadly there was no hot tub like mentioned in the Description :( The Check in was easy and combined with a Tour through the House. The Food basket Gilles with local specialities was amazing, and more than you can ask for. The house is equiped with everything you want.

Summary: Our host Jose greeted us warmly on arrival and gave us a tour of the accommodations and beautiful garden. There was a lovely welcome basket with breads, snacks, fruit and wine, as well as some food and condiments in the fridge and cupboards. We found Casa da Burra to be very comfortable and charming, and fully stocked with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We loved the view and the environment, and we were able to enjoy hiking, sightseeing and dining all over Sao Miguel Island. We found this place to be 12/5!! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Summary: This property is a rural house in the quietest part of the island. Everything from the house to the trails around it are gorgeous. It's the perfect place to be if you want to do a lot of hiking. There are not a lot of restaurants nearby, but stop at the grocery store on your way in and cook in the well equipped kitchen. There is also a working wood oven inside and a stone grill outside. Jose and Ricardo are the ultimate hosts and offered great information to make sure that we didn't miss anything that we were interested in. They have taken great care in restoring this historic Stone house! It was also awesome to have a laundry right there and a welcome basket of local treats. I'm really picky and I wouldn't change a thing. Could have stayed forever

Summary: We have spent with wife one week in cozy House of Burra. We were both very impressed. We were looking for peaceful authentic secluded place and we were most glad that we found it. House itself offers everything what you could wish for. It is spacious, comfortable, has great views, unique garden and numerous details, where you can see, that owner has spent special care and attention to them. The hosts, Jose and his son Ricardo are the best hosts ever. Very kind, opened, with a lot of stories and sightseeing hints " to tell. They have also prepared welcome pack, delicious fruits, drinks and bread. I can say that all holidays on Azores were great, but with this cute accommodation, holidays have became magic. We hope to come back soon! Janez & Jelena

Summary: My daughter and I enjoyed our stay at Casa da Burra! We were greeted at the airport and the owner, his wife and son helped us get a rental car. They were very pleasant and helpful to us. The views are breathtaking and we wish we could have stayed longer then 2 days : )
