Positive: Great small boutique tucked away. Room was huge, very comfortable bed. High vaulted ceiling and a few areas that need a good dusting. All the rooms are different. We thought we'd booked an internal balcony, it was actually external. Breakfast was very good. The roof terrace area is an added bonus. Plenty of seating, but only 4 loungers. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Negative: Nothing to blame the hotel for. Only one small grocery shop nearby if you need anything.

Positive: The location and facilities of Casa Birmula are ideal. The rooms are clean/comfortable, and all the staff are helpful/friendly. There is plenty to see and do in Birgu and the local area. Also, it is only a short ferry trip across Grand Harbour to Valletta.

Positive: Renovated building, with a nice interior. Large room, with all the necessary comfort. Exemplary cleanliness, white towels and linen, bathrobes. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful view from the roof, where the pool is located. The location is good, very close to the bus station and the ferry terminal to Valletta.

Negative: I have nothing to complain about.

Positive: Interesting conversion of two old buildings. Some quirky features. Staff and breakfast were excellent. Room OK.

Negative: We had requested a room with balcony but this was a bit disappointing as the 'balcony' faced into the interior of the building. The floor to ceiling window needed a curtain as it was adjacent to the bathroom door which didn't slide fully shut so privacy was an issue. The main problem was a mysterious sound rather like a ships foghorn - possibly caused by the wind blowing across the large (ventilation ?) pipe which runs through the room. It sounded quite loudly and intermittently throughout the two days we were there. As a consequence our nerves were quite shredded!

Summary: Good location but could be better.
