Positive: The size of the property and the location to the town. The easy and convenient parking. Well equipped with coffee, tea, sugar milk and well as toiletries

Negative: I am not usually someone who leaves reviews and after reading some from last year I was hoping that they had learned from previous reviews and "upped" their game but unfortunately I was left disappointed by our stay at Carvetii. The size of the house was as expected with enough beds to sleep the 4 adults, 3 children and baby staying there however the cleanliness and standard of utensils available left a lot to be desired. On arrival it was apparent that one of their back doors had a bad leak, causing the carpet to be wet and stained (although it had been attempted to be covered up with a mat!) Before we could even use the kitchen we needed to reclean the sink and didn't dare use the dirty draining board. We had to use tinfoil for the oven trays as they were filthy and unfortunately we had to quickly use the frozen food we bought as the freezer was broken (and had mould growing along the door and the floor). Although we still couldn't all eat at once as there was only 5 forks for the whole house (one being a disposable wooden one!) That night when my son went to bed, we pulled back his bedsheets to see that they had not been changed and that there were toe nail clippings under his pillow. Unfortunately it didn't stop there. The bathrooms showed they they had been given a clean but obviously very rushed. The main bathroom still had 'skid marks' down the toilet and all three showers were thick with black mould. The showers did work well in the ensuites but cannot comment on the main bathroom as I didn't want my children using it due to the loose edging that I couldn't risk them being hurt on. To my understanding the owners do not live locally and it appears that the property is currently for sale but it is very unfortunate that the standards of cleaning provided for the property have not improved since precious reviews, and in my opinion have dropped further.

Positive: The property was nice and spacious. Although it is in a very small town, it is within 10 mins drive of amenities and the views are spectacular when you are driving there.

Negative: WiFi was a bit patchy in some of the rooms. The rear entrance/garden patio area would of been used more if it had a secure gate. Felt like anyone could just walk in.

Summary: A nice break away with the family with amazing Scottish views
