Negative: 1) WiFi code was INCORRECT, in two places, recorded in the introduction book! Hard to believe we were the first to use it… 2) no washing machine instructions 3) recycling instructions were very complicated, and the receptacles were not labeled

Positive: The location was fantastic. Lounge was comfortable, nice outside space- not massive but still enough to have a quiet coffee in the morning. I’m not normally a fan of soft beds, but these were still comfortable. Easy check in procedure.

Negative: Cleanliness, there were cobwebs over the doors and in the windows. Beware that the shower has a step to get in and is raised slightly, then getting out was a step down (about 6-8 inches). We chose a property with a separate shower on purpose due to an elderly guest, but unfortunately she could not use it as it was not safe for her - not the properties fault, but just want to make people aware. In general the kitchen cutlery and crockery could do with a refresh. The cutlery was old and tarnished and the crockery was a little mismatched - there was one large mug, but enough unchipped mugs for all guests would have been nice. For the premium price we paid, I would expect more, for less than £50 a new set of plates and cutlery would make a world of difference and would make us consider coming back again. As it is, we wouldn’t.

Summary: Nice place but needs improvements to warrant the premium price.

Positive: The location. Comfortable beds.

Negative: The website states it had a wood burner, no wood to be found, only a box of matches. Also invest in a new Ironing board cover, it was old and flimsy. A saucepan was filthy, we had to clean before using. Communication was lacking, I sent 2 messages, no response, we have travelled all over the UK, this is the only accommodation that didn't respond. The toilet roll fell off, some general maintenance wouldn't go astray.

Positive: A lovely cottage in a great location. Was cold when we stayed so more wood and kindling for the fire would have been appreciated and we could have done with a chopping board. Some areas could have been cleaner but all in all we enjoyed our few days there and would recommend as a great place to stay. The beds were super comfortable and bed linen was gorgeous.
