Summary: Cozy but got in the downstairs bedrooms as there are no air vents or ceiling fans. Tried to open the window in the master for a small breeze and the screens are missing.

Summary: The Pros:The Cabin was very well decorated and probably the cleanest cabin I have ever stayed in. The bed was comfortable and the two bathrooms were the only two rooms which needed some work. The rest of the interior was decorated beautifully. There is way too much furniture in the living room, dining room and bedroom to move around freely.This is designed to accommodate larger groups of people which doesn't really work in a cabin this small. It is small, but considering it was only two of us, we managed just fine. The kitchen is the highlight of the cabin. Very well organized and good cookware, drinkware and utensils etc...The appliances were very nice, there is however no dishwasher. But again, it was only two of us so we managed. The Cons:First of all, the website pictures do not reflect anything that I am about to complain about when it comes to the exterior. The location is terrible.The cabin is literally right off the gravel road, no driveway, literally a vehicle could drive right into the cabin or literally right beside it like a fast food drive up window. The neighboring homes could be hit with a rock thrown by a small child, that's how close they are. One home next door is for sale with people constantly coming and going at all hours. The same neighbors have trash right next to the rental cabins firepit and trash all over their porch along with other junk that you can't avoid looking at.Speaking of the firepit, it's right by the road and right next to the neighbors property, absolutely no privacy. The deck is on the side of the house facing the junky neighbor, so both neighbors have a clear shot at each other. Again, absolutely no privacy at all.There is no access to the backyard, nor is there a back deck due to the terrain dropping straight down. The house is on stilts on one side like many homes in the mountains.There is no yard or grass, only gravel, so if you need to get out of the house, go for a walk, walk your dog, a gravel road is the only option. Nothing can be done about the location in which this cabin resides, the homes are older and the sloped land determines how much yard they have etc...However, the website pictures are totally misleading and I would label them as false advertisement.There is also no way to check the property layout via google maps. This area is kind of hidden away and access to it is a single narrow road that only one car can pass to and from the cabin. We checked out a day early because it was hard to relax under the circumstances.

Summary: We enjoyed our extended stay at the Cardinals Nest very much. The retro kitchen was super cute and was well equipped with everything we needed. We loved sitting by the fire pit and enjoyed the peace and quiet. The king size bed was extremely comfortable and always got a good night's sleep. Summary: What a wonderful spot! We arrived to a very clean, sweet house. The two separate bedrooms were perfect for our family - in the second bedroom there’s a queen bed with a loft with a twin bed - it was perfect for our two girls - we put the baby in our pack n play in the loft and our 4 year old loved the bed. The kitchen had everything we needed for our meals and the outdoor fire pit is where we spent both evenings. We arrived pre snow and woke up the first morning with at least 5 inches and didn’t lose power. The glass windows in the dining room provided a beautiful view of the snow covered trees. Our dog was so happy exploring the surrounding areas. Truly a wonderful spot and lovely getaway.
