Positive: Exceptional and beautiful home, into which a great deal of time and thought has been sunk. Honestly, it felt like being in another world. We went to sleep to the sound of happy, convivial diners down below (joy!) and woke to find Columbia Road coming alive with the Sunday flower market. The area is vibrant with two busy pubs within a couple of minutes walk, and it’s a ten minute stroll to Brick Lane or the nearest tube station. We loved the curated collection of photography books in the sitting room (we are big fans of Saul Leiter and thoroughly enjoyed looking through his retrospectives). The master bed is very comfortable, the bath is gorgeous and the efficient heating meant we were warm and snug all night. We loved it so much we have already booked again for next month! Do not hesitate to forgo the accommodation of the normal “tourist” areas and instead immerse yourself in this friendly and exciting area of London.

Negative: I felt a bit awkward picking up the keys and went to the bar next door first who looked at me as if I was an alien. Then tried the restaurant but felt a bit like I was getting in their way before they got that I was coming in for the key.
