Positive: Quiet area, with an excellent view of Etna. Has easy parking and air-conditioned bedrooms.

Negative: The apartment felt very dated and run down. While I wasn’t expecting luxury, the furniture is old and most of the indoor doors don’t close properly. The ensuite bathroom was especially frustrating, as the hot water would run out after just 2 minutes, forcing our group of four to rely on the main bathroom instead. This became a real inconvenience when we needed to get ready quickly. When I contacted the host about the issue, the response was dismissive, simply stating that it was already set to maximum. Finding the apartment for the first time was also tricky. While this isn’t entirely the host’s fault, he offered no help—during a video call he said he didn’t recognize the area and then abruptly hung up. Additionally, guests are expected to take rubbish to a communal collection point located 5 minutes away by car, and no extra rubbish bags are provided, so we had to purchase our own. On top of that, we were required to empty the condensate bottles from the AC ourselves. One last comment is that there are zero facilities in the area, no restaurants or convenience shops.

Summary: Good views, not such a great stay.

Positive: It was a bit tricky to find but we arrived at night in the dark. The host was helpful also at this time of the day. Big house with several bedrooms. Well furnished kitchen. Newly renovated bathrooms. Outside shower. We spent most of the time on the beautiful terrace. Space also for the children to play. Silent neighbourhood.

Negative: In the area there is only a small shop and a pizzeria. We had a car so we could go around. We would have liked a barbeque but it was fine also without.

Summary: Big terrace with stunning view of Etna.
